So for an example if LeBron isn’t playing any defense then Windhorst or somebody will come out with an article saying how LeBron is genius for conserving energy on the defensive end or if he loses somehow it’s either LeBron has no help or he’s trying to teach the young guys how to win. But the narrative around Lebron for most of the media, is fixed that he is a top 1-3 player in the history of the game, and then they have to justify their position through constantly shifting the goal posts and narrative to keep their premature conclusion in tact. KD is right. If you are a role player, you should love playing with Lebron, if you are a star, you shouldn't play with him. He doesn't make stars better, he reduces them.

He doesn't have the championship banners in comparison to the top players of the history of the game; Jordan, Kareem, Kobe, and Magic (not necessarily in that order, IMHO). I do think Lebron should get the bulk of the media coverage, he can still go down as number 2 all-time, and he has been the games best player since 2011. I love LeBron stories. But that's not what KD is critiquing, he is highlighting how the many members of the media are unable to critique LeBron and how that creates an environment that other superstar and star players don't want to participate in. LeBron is a GOAT (I don't think he can pass Jordan, but he can pass everybody else) but particular segments of the media always attempts to give him crowns prematurely. To your other point about KD, he probably wouldn't have a problem if the media was on his jock like LeBron, I mean what athelete doesn't want that type of adulation?
