No matter how many stars you put with Lebron HE JUST CANNOT DOMINATE. Not in the Olympics, not in the NBA.... Put KD with a couple other top stars... We have seen what happens. Domination. Put Kobe or MJ with one or 2 stars... you get domination... Lebron had a team with 3 top 10 nba picks, in their big 3... and in 4 years he only got 2 rings??? C'mon, man.

The Heat losing the 2011 Finals created the horrible precedent of fans counting Finals appearances as a similar achievement to winning the Finals in order to justify the hype and to maintain their preconceived top 10 rankings. I remember in the 90s when Shaq lost the Finals to Hakeem/Rockets and that Finals loss was used against Shaq when ranking him with other all-time greats. The Lakers losing the 2004 Finals was also used against Kobe. But after Miami lost in 2011, the rules were rewritten to where players get as much credit for making the NBA Finals as winning one. There is zero penalty now for losing the Finals when we discuss legacies.

I hope you know despite lebrons terrible shooting splits and historic to’s, the cavs only lost by a 6 point margin. 3 of the 4 games were decided by 9 or less. 2 of the 4 games were decided by 3 or less. The cavs had a top defense and held the spurs under 100 for 3 of the 4 games. Kobe fan here. Lebron was definitely the best player at the time but that makes that "decision" more egregious because if the best player has 2 other perreniel allstars how does anyone else win? Not to mention a bunch of the support players took less. Miller, battier, ray allen for example. They were as talented a team that the salary cap could allow. You could have replace lebron with any top 7 player and they would have still been the most talented team in the league. Them winning didn't really prove anything

Considering Lebron was the best player in the Eastern Conference (and arguably the NBA) and he joined the other best player in the Eastern Conference along with another franchise player in Chris Bosh, getting to the Finals isn't that grand of an achievement in an all-time weak conference and is massively overhyped by Lebron fans. It was a failure. They needed to win AT LEAST three championships. The Heat lost in embarassing fashion in 2011 against the Mavericks & were spanked historically in 2014. In 2011, Wade & LeBron mocked Dirk for being sick, Jason Terry called out & outplayed LeBron, and LeBron had an epic meltdown. In 2014 the Spurs just beat them down & made their entire team on both ends of the court look old (despite thr Spurs having the older stars). No one had an asnwer for Kawhi Leonard & LeBron had to be carried off court due to cramps. The Heatles began and ended their run in failure.

It was successful in that Miami won two titles, but it also was disappointing how Miami did it. In 2011, the Heat lose to an underdog Dallas because LeBron James choked shockingly in the closing periods. In 2012, Miami won the title in a strike-shortened season against a young Oklahoma City team. In 2013 , Miami needed Ray Allen's legendary shot in Game 6 vs. San Antonio to keep the Heat from being eliminated. Miami still had to scrap to win Game 7, as San Antonio was down by 2 with one minute left. In 2014, San Antonio won the series by the largest point differential in NBA Finals history. In some of those games, the Spurs were embarrassing the Heat. Moreover, that 27-game win streak in 2012-13 was arguably the only stretch where Miami looked like a fluid, dominant team. They struggled at times meshing on the court (almost looking clunky), and teams like Boston (2012) and Indiana (2013 and 2014) pushed them harder than expected. Things just didn't look as easy as it should have been.
