I really miss playing drums, I haven't played for more than 3 years and the truth is that this man reminds me how much I love playing drums. I know that one day, with the favor of God, I will be playing again and enjoying the way Cris does.

I'm a drummer of near twenty years and I'm not famous nor in a musical career. Yet I practice most days anyways. The biggest challenge I ever faced was continued practice even though that time spent didn't translate into financial return or peer recognition. Despite this I'm mostly joyful that I've kept the instrument in my life because of how I find expression for my own creativity and how when practicing or playing I feel released and stress free. Bring drums back, I actively encourages you here via my words of experience. If you expect something from it you might create an obstacle to you continuing it at all. If you find zen and personal pleasure you might develop a side of you that otherwise would have been neglected. It's satisfying beyond what we might think. I love it like I had the first day I started. Get it back in your life I'm saying to you as friendly and earnest advice

Here is what I consider the top drummer in the game. Able to play crazy stuff beyond comprehension. Yet there he is! Laying down the straight groove. Showing simplicity in such a beautiful way that it looks complex. Then BAM! Hits you right in the kisser to remind you he's got top level speed and technique. I love it all!

Chris I don't know if you'll see this message or not, but watching you play makes me beyond happy. It makes me realize that no matter what life I've chosen for myself, no matter how I'm ever feelin, I can always reach out and reach others through the power of music and feel that contentedness I see you have at the very end. Everything you do is just so musical, right down to individual hit velocities, so you always seem to be a true part of a track rather than a rhythmic element. Thank you so much for your inspiration and the hard work you've put in to be at this level. Hope to meet or at least see you in the future so I can thank you in person. Cheers!

+Thurman Ulrich A lot of them get unfairly judged because they are in a genre that allows for very minimal deviation from the style. However, you'd be remiss in believing that Roddy, Kollias, Haake or a few of the virtuoso type players of the genre can't play other styles effectively and convincingly.
