J T yes, ofcourse it does feel like that. If you where better than he was, you wouldn't be sitting there. That doesn't mean you should stop playing though! If you want to be as good as he is, go practice your ass off! He isn't born like this either. It took him years of blood, sweat and tears I can assure you. So get behind the kit and practice!

A lot of people don't think fast and energized drumming has pocket, but this is proof that it totally does. Impeccable time. Impeccable consistency. Impeccable dynamics and note placement. If that doesn't count as pocket then I don't know what does.

A lot of people, myself included, do think fast and energized drumming doesn't have pocket because most of those fast, energized drummer aren't Chis Coleman. I mean, if those fast energetic players played even 2/3rd as good as Chris then I might change my mind but unfortunately 90% of them don't have pocket

Even when full blown drumming you can see the rhythm of the beat moving through his entire body quite vividly. Especially around the 3 minute mark.

I know there are a sea of drummers out there that are incredible and all but there is something with Chris that sets him apart.. His groove and feeling is something you can spot from only hearing him play for only a few seconds. As well as power to his playing, to have a heavy hand yet be as fast and articulate is a damn pleasure to always watch. He for me is definitely apart of the mount Rushmore of drummers, hands down!
