I don’t know how a NON-DRUMMER can fully comprehend and appreciate what CHRIS COLEMAN does on a set. The level of technicality in his independence with both hands and feet is unconscionable! He’s in my TOP FIVE along with CALVIN RODGERS, ERIC MOORE, BENNY GREB and TONY ROYSTER JR. Simply amazing! 🎉❤

7:46 - 8:00 is the most wierd, excellent, flammy and incomprehensible roll type of thing i've ever heard. Chris coleman is a drum monster in all druming aspects. RESPECT 4 ever.

...anyone with concerns and complaints can just forward to around 9:00 into the solo and just observe that exercise of Independence....MASTER Drummer. That Ostinato technique is SQUEAKY clean, fluid with insane finesse....nuff said.

Chris is not only a great drummer but a great person as well. This is music not just play a bunch of doubles and singles and showing how fast you can play, he is telling a story. As I always say there are two types of drummers the ones who hit the drums and the ones who play the drums, there's a big gap in between.

I think what it is that some drummers are missing, is the fact he plays in the gaps on this video. It's an odd form but none the less expertly executed. I can make a similar noise in some parts and I'm not great, but the difference is he already knows how to drum like everyone else and totally rip a drum kit to shreds, this is different, he's playing on the outside, toying with the structure and beat, ridiculing the rules, That's accomplished and clever.

for those who say, this boring and I do this on my drums all the time.... I say you don't know much about drumming if you think that Chris is playing a bunch of noise. But it's KZbin and I haven't seen a video by Jim Cullen or Malik Berry yet! try the ostinato and see how well YOU play the drums!! Oh but you probably don't know what an ostinato is! LOL

I placed mine flat from watching him long ago and love it. I feel it’s actually easier depending on seat height. The flatness let’s me attack the drums in more of a snare way instead of a lateral type hit🙂

Jim Cullen I hope you are being sarcastic, the musicality that's in this solo is just superb. Most of what he's doing, most drummers can't do. Me included and I'm a drummer. He's definitely a percussionist. Any drummer would appreciate this bad ass solo. So in other words fuck off!
