Red Bull Sōlus, one of the most mentally and physically challenging contests in skateboarding, is back for a third year. From the mind of Ryan Sheckler, this digital skate competition challenges 17 of the top pros and amateurs to deliver their best continuous line at Sheckler’s private skatepark, the SC Sandlot. Here is Chris Colbourn’s run.
On June 6-8, each of the competing skaters were given one hour at the SC Sandlot to film their best line - no music, no other skaters, and no knowledge of who else is competing in the competition. They're just stuck with their thoughts, their time limit, and James Craig, this year's official Red Bull Sōlus timekeeper and emcee.
This competition format, combined with the new blood featured in this year’s roster, has resulted in the best Red Bull Sōlus to date.
Some people were just born to skate. Chris Colbourn (better known as “Cookie”) is one of those people. His ability to make the most difficult and creative tricks look insanely easy is just one of Cookie’s many gifts.
Cookie skates for Worble, New Balance Numeric, Independent, Spitfire, Mob, Brooklyn Projects, and Bronson.
Our judges, Vanessa Torres, Mike Sinclair, and Jason Rothmeyer, will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity.

Smart to start off just feeling things out, warming up. Watched some of the other people go straight at the bigger stuff and get worn out faster even though they might be more athletic cookie took it easy and didn’t get stressed by the clock. You can actually have a killer session in less than an hour even if you spend the first half hour just cruising and doing little tricks

I love watching these. Makes me want to get on my skateboard and relive my preteen-teenage years again. Two broken legs and weighing like 50 pounds more than I did in those years is going to keep me on the ground though, maybe a couple flat ground tricks. Haha.
