Chris was the howl of Seattle. For myself music that moves me like Chris's went right into my soul. He was lead singer for Temple of the Dog, Audioslave , Soundgarden, and solo works. He left us with beautiful music for all moods. He was a gorgeous man inside and out. Keep exploring his stuff you wont be disappointed with his nearly 5 octive range or lyrics.

Love this reaction. Chris had such a wonderful voice. He has this ridiculous vocal range that lets him go into the stratosphere, & his early stuff is a lot of that stuff. But from Temple of the Dog onwards it's like he realised that just because he has that choice to go there, it doesn't mean you constantly should. & because of that he used his baritone a lot more & sometimes would build to a high note which was a lot more effective & would blow you away when it arrived out of nowhere. Sometimes he wouldn't even go for them notes anymore because he didn't need to. He was never a one trick pony, he was diverse, & a fantastic songwriter. His voice was just so beautiful & perfect, it had such a tender, warm personal feel to it. ❤ Need more Cornell reactions in my life Mona. Live cover of Billy Jean is super special. 😊

I know, we're all having trouble. So I'll help you out: You said this song is a 10/10, and you're absolutely right. And after May 18th, 2017, we all know we won't ever get this again. So the song takes on a whole new meaning, as though it's coming _from_ the listener _to_ the singer: *Nothing compares to you, Chris*

Its so sad to know we lost that voice and the man behind it.I think artistic people just feel things more deeply than other people and that's the same reason we lose so many of them. You can't unleash that much soul crushing pain in music without eventually getting overcome in that pain yourself.

I don't really care for such emotional connections like such, much more into technology and science, I don't share my personal space with a greater audience, I just don't get the need to for such social addiction, it could be that I am only child and if you don't get used to being on your own you probably go insane, and for 70% of the time I now prefer it. Also love should be reserved for those people you deem special enough, not giving out like some cheap product. People like to over-do the racial divide, the biggest divide will always be thought and that we never change, and nor should it, people shouldn't be clones and actually differences normally breeds progress as-well as competition which normally drives up performance. Basically, I am not one for pie in the sky thinking, normally has no substance to it.

PMH, I have been a fan of CC and his work since I was 11-12 years old back in 1990-91. His voice has had a profound impact on allowing me to release whatever stress, heartache, anger. etc I am going though. Even to this day at 43. But when I came across this video and seeing your reaction as soon as his voice pierced your soul, I was moved to tears. It was a special moment to see. I honestly cannot think of another video on YT that touched me that way. Like his voice, your reaction was authenticate. Right away. Im not gonna lie, I find it both perplexing yet satisfying that 2 people who have never met shared a moment by CC. Even as this video closes in on 5 years old. Thank you or this. Tbh, I needed a good cry.

Thanks for doing this one. I've been devastated since his passing. Nothing compares to him. Have you ever listened to Seasons? If not you should, it's one of my faves but Like A Stone is my fave of all his songs. I believe you are an old soul my dear. I'm not sure how old you are but you "get it". What you said about his voice evoking emotions is so true. And musicians write the soundtrack to our lives. Some people don't get why I cry over a musician passing like it was a family member. It's because they are. The music is there every day, to comfort in all ways. When we need to cry, sometimes hearing a certain song will offer that release. Sometimes we are angry and we need to hear Metallica, haha. I'm sure you know what I mean. Love & light.💫✨💖RIP Chris & Prince. P.S. I am curious what you would think of the band Ghost. Over the past year I've become a huge fan. They did a cover of Here comes the sun by the Beatles and if you search you'll find the live in Liseberg version.

Attila Von Stryker actually she did, in fact at that time ,she told the story after Prince died... at that time she was staying the night at Prince's mansion because they were doing some work on some music, probably this song ,and Arsenio Hall was there ,and they were doing coke(,Prince& Arsenio ) apparently Arsenio provided the coke for Prince ,and sometime during the night Prince became extremely angry and started yelling at her, he scared her so much that she called a cab in the middle of the night and snuck out . True story. Nothing Compares 2 U: the secrets of Prince's original recording, unheard until today Who is the song about, why did Prince give it to the Family to record as an album track, and what did he really think of Sinéad O’Connor’s smash hit single? Dave 17.00 EDT Thirty four years ago, when Paul “St Paul” Peterson was the singer in the Family, a band Prince had assembled, he was sitting in his mother’s house in Minneapolis when he received a tape containing Prince’s recording of a song he wanted Peterson to learn for the album he was producing for the group. “I was told to learn Prince’s inflections, his emotions, and the melody line,” the singer remembers, describing how capturing the song’s themes of loss and abandonment meant he had to go “deep”. “So I thought about a girl called Julie, who broke my heart in high school.” It was Nothing Compares 2 U. Prince’s recording went unreleased, the Family’s version became a barely heard album track, but Sinéad O’Connor’s smash 1990 reimagining let the world hear what is now acknowledged as one of Prince’s greatest songs. Today, as Prince’s more electronic, rockier original is finally made public, Peterson - who has been married to Julie for 28 years - is back in his mother’s house. He has just listened to the recording he last heard in 1984 and admits: “I’m freaking out here, man.”

Excellent video! We're with you girl in your reaction. My eyes were welling almost they whole time. Prince, RIP, was an awesome songwriter to have thought this up. Imagine the tears he cried writing the words? Sinead O'Connor did the song equal justice with her rendition. However, Chris's (RIP) voice, probably the best premier rock voice, EVER, brings it to a whole new level. It's like he knows how to bring those emotions out (he probably could relate) and gets deep into your soul. Chris wrote all of his songs from Soundgarden to Audioslave to his solo, but also brings his own style to well known covers. Another cover he did was Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. There were so few things this guy couldn't do. What they are, I don't know. His song, "Sunshower", is another one of those great lyrics and evocative lyrics. The world lost a great voice and talent when The Lord took him home.
