Every time I would watch reaction videos hoping that someone would discover Chris Cornell and would see and feel what I do, well it finally happened. Thanks Rory, it's pure joy. You haven't listened to revelations, be yourself or ave Maria which gives me chills.❤😊

*Rory.* Thank you 🤗 My favorite song for 30 yrs and counting. I love how relaxed he is here, and his cheeky dry wit. 🥰 You hadn't yet seen him play Seasons solo...This is from 2013, 20+ yrs after he wrote it. Here he takes it down a step, probably so he can go straight into The Day I Tried to Live. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I just love this man. ♥️

The best lyrics in The day I tried to live "The words we say never seem to live up to the ones inside your head. The lives we make never seem to get us anywhere but died." Those lyrics have always stuck out to me since the 1st time I heard that song. So sad to realize but so true. Favorite song of mine

"Seasons" is such an incredible song. "Singles" is a movie you should most definitely check out - and the entire Soundtrack is the best out of 4 absolute must-listen early-mid 90's CLASSICS ("The Crow" "Natural Born Killers" and "Pulp Fiction" being my other top favorites - truly incredible and original music you won't find anywhere else, from a lot of phenomenal bands and artists, on those albums) - but the "Singles" soundtrack is where 'Seasons' came from (it is the background song throughout the movie) and the album is pure grunge heaven, with some other Seattle based artist's tunes - like Hendrix's "Waterfall" sprinkled in. "Singles" is known as the ultimate Gen X movie, still holds up, made in 1992 I think - and members of Pearl Jam act in it, and both live sets by Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are featured in scenes where the plot is going on in a local Seattle (the setting for the film) club. Cameron Crowemade it and went on to do "Jerry Maguire" then "Almost Famous" 2 of the top 10 films of the decade - the 2nd to me one of te best movies ever made, especially for music lovers. Chris was such a once-in-a-generation song-writer, and uses a lot of alternate tunings - why I myself at least always found it so hard to work out his songs (I tried and tried till I read it in a 'Guitar World' article way back when, his use of alt-tunings). Pretty sure this is "Spanish Tuning" or open D - a tuning popular in the real deal OG Mississippi Delta blues, in particular Skip James, one of the greatest of the greats. I keep meaning to do some pay requests for Delta Blues artists - I have to get on that I'd love to see your thoughts. The 2 Son House reactions were when he was WAY WAY far from his legit peak abilities and man, when he was, 2 or 3 decades earlier, he was absolutely a MONSTER talent. I was learning a couple of Skip James songs, had my 12-string tuned for it (12 string has always been my go to for my rather pitiful slide playing but I try to get by, but yeah, the extra set of strings helps a lot with the bottleneck having double the strings to contact - just a tip from a middling guitar player to any of the 2 people who read this) - and I all the sudden found myself playing the opening riff to "Seasons" and it worked perfectly. This tuning isn't the most convenient to do just noodling about - you lower the 2 highest strings down a full note to D and A, the 3rd string a half step to F#, and the low 6th string a full step to D. Not easy, like single note Drop D to go back and forth on a single guitar while playing multiple songs, but it opens up some amazing sounds and musical ideas, so yeah, I chose my least played guitar the 12-string and just keep it permanently tuned that way. I never confirmed if this is in fact the tuning for 'Seasons' but it worked so well I assume it is, and probably for "The Day I Tried to Live" hence why he played them together in the set without messing with the guitar.
