Ok as someone who was raised in a cult, I love watching comedians make fun of these wild pastors. My own grandpa was a pastor and called my own mom a witch in a church service like this. Called out a women's Bible study group saying we were all demon possessed. Disowned me as his granddaughter because I skipped a church service. They live in their own reality where everyone is doing something against THEM. Imagine being so delusional. It's wild.

They are suspicious of others because they assume everyone is as devious as they are. My dad did the same shit. He would accuse me of "huffing" drugs in the bathroom when I was 12. I was like, what is huffing? I'm 12 bro. He accused me of being in a gang. We lived in the suburbs, middle class. I was in marching band but I wouldn't consider that gang related activity. Gang opportunities were hard to come by at that time in my life. Now that I'm an adult, he would accuse me of stealing real estate deals from my brother, who is not an investor and has no interest in buying real estate. He went behind my back to my real estate agent to accuse me of this. It's funny, because he and my mom actually stole a deal from me, but I let it slide in the interest of keeping the peace. Anyhow, once I realized he was never going to change and become decent, I finally had to cut him out. It's unfortunate. Not surprisingly, he is also ultra-religious.

My son and I did something similar when we went to a new church in Southern GA . Trump just won the 2016 election , and the pastor decided to lead the delegation in prayer for him. Instantly my Son looked at me with astonishment and were like "check please" . Got the fk up out of there , it wasn't so much that it was for Trump , (a little i admit) but for this fkn guy to bring up politics in any manner was just out of bounds for me . By the way , im a CPA and a huge part of being a non-profit and not being subject to income taxes is that you MUST state you are not affiliated with any political party. Once you do , you should lose your tax exempt status ! Full stop
