HUNTR is the project we should have started years ago. It's our excuse to work less and hunt more. We're not the world's greatest hunters by any means but we're not afraid to get aggressive and learn from our mistakes. From northeastern whitetails to western muleys, we're dreaming up hunts, putting in for tags, finding ground, and doing everything in our power to get it done.
Podcasts drop Tuesday nights, season 1 drops fall 2021, & there's merch in the store if you dig our stuff!
We want to hear from you! Whether you've got a story to share, a question for the guys, or want to tell us what we're doing wrong, it's all good. Drop us a line and we'll do our best to get back to you

I know this is an older vid, stumbled on it. You mentioned how someone planting brassica in September is no good. I don't start planting my brassica fields until mid September and the last field is planted first of October. I stagger it thru that time period so there's different levels of growth and this is all for late winter food, December, January. It's smart. My biggest bucks I've taken have been in December after the rut on these brassica plots. Now I live in TN so I'm able to plant late. But it's a smart strategy for late winter food. Guys around men plant in July and buy the time season even opens there plots are mowed over. With my strategy I'm able to keep deer on my property later. I also have a ton of oaks and a massive clover field so they have food early and leave the brassica for late

Iowa hasn't completely sold out yet. They seem to look after there residents first. I wish every summer down here at the beach s of N C they would only allow a few visitors in. Great job Iowa.

Good podcast, I moved to Iowa in 2014 I hunt from opening bow season through to late season. I hunt with a recurve and was shooting 76lbs. But I bought a new recurve bow in 60 lbs. draw weight. I was in Pa. I find a job in mid Jan. and work all the way through to the end of sept. and then quite my job and start hunting Oct. 1 until the end of the season. Then I start all over again. My best Buck is a 182" and have had some 190" and 200" just did not get a shot.

Sadly the government only looks at the dollars. I grew up and hunted in Pike Co and have hunted Brown and Schuyler. Pike isn't near what it used to be before outfitting started. It's on a rebound but it'll never be like it was. Enjoy how your podcast covers different areas of the hunting world, keep up the good work.

Good podcast. You have the right combination of real information and just talking hunting. Never knew crossbows are illegal in Iowa. Should be ok for kids or older people or even have a special season but I'd prefer illegal over just doing like Kansas and most states and no limits on crossbows. Iowa seems to have everything right for creating big buck hunting. Should have the points to check it out myself 2023

Thanks Kevin! We are absolutely for youth, disabled and senior for crossbows. Also have there place overall, just not sure that’s the entire archery season.

I'm surprised he doesn't see more pheasants around! Hunted deer/turkey in the Winterset area and there's huge bucks and ton of pheasants. The Des Moines area and south is in like an 150 mile radius is just as good as SE Iowa. Did you guys get iowa tags this year or have the points for next year? edit: next year will be hype !

@@HUNTRPOD Hunted 5 and 2 in different years for gun and turkey. Can never underestimate 2/4/6. It’s very river dominated for cover but you’d be suprised at the amount of public forest and crp that’s combined into moderate sized units. 4 or 6 would have to be the second best after 5.

Really , y’all basically just insulting the hunting public guys ……. Ya know the guys who get over 100k views in 24 hours on every video ?? Says a lot about what the vast majority of hunters actually want vs y’all . Y’all are so out of touch with 95% of the hunters . The reason is they are more down to earth and more like the rest of us .

Insulted them? Uh I don’t think so, those guys are very close with us. I think they have one of the hardest jobs which is to keep a lot of people content and be on the road away from family a lot. Not easy at all. But also not relatable to the everyday guy who works 40+ hrs a Week and then hunts when he can
