I am a 15 year old who has been playing the alto saxophone for 5 years and I stumbled across this video while searching for Hotel California in sheet music for my instrument. When I saw it, I had to click on it. I love the song and thought you would be playing the whole thing. Going into it, I was thinking, "I hope this person plays the end guitar part." Though you didn't play the entire song, I was definitely not disappointed. It was played gorgeously, something I strive to do. You, sir, have made yourself my idol! (By the way, your sax is beautiful.)

Any time I pick up upper register notes like G and up I always can't seem to get them back. Did you use any during this video? It might help to know that I play Bari Sax.

+Tshazam61 There are only a few altissimo notes in this particular solo; there are a lot more in my Georgia On My Mind video, go check it out! Bari is generally unstable in the altissimo register, at least in my experience. If you have access to one, try learning altissimo on tenor - much easier to get than any other sax, and once you get it you'll know how to approach it on bari.

Hi there! I'm sorry but I don't have much experience with either the A45 or the Claude Lakey. I tried both many years ago (maybe in 2008), but I don't remember what I thought. Generally speaking, mouthpieces fall into maybe three categories: classical, bright and dark. You can find mouthpieces that works across different styles but they won't be as bright or dark as something made for a particular tone, so most players end up either keeping to specific tone (think David Sanborn - always extremely bright), or having a few different mouthpieces they pull out when required. Best thing to do, if you can, is to go to a shop and try a bunch of different mouthpieces. Everyone is different, everyone likes different things - so what works for me might not work at all for you, and vice versa. Good luck in your hunt!!
