that's the saddest part of this whole situation, from the looks of things it just seems like he manipulated the fuck out of everything all for a chance to be relevant on TV. I mean when you go on a video sharing platform trying to go against someone who has been infamous for how much of a horrible human being someone is on said platform, only for at the end to turn your back on said platform and claim it's everyone's fault in there that the someone in question hasn't been arrested (even though none of this would've ever been brought up if the people in the platform never mentioned it), that might give off some very snake vibes. It's one thing to have an incompetent helper who basically couldn't help for shit, leaving that one laptop with so much evidence to collect more dust than a Wii U and now make the evidence look unfactual and give it a chance to create suspicion, but signing an entire TV deal is beyond ridiculous when things should be looked into right away before you could make some TV series out of it. That's like making a 9/11 documentary while there's still fear going on after the attack, things should be dealt with first and first thoughts shouldn't be, "HMMM, I CAN MILK YOU"

Everyone forgets, or is too young to know, that Chris Hansen is not a good person. Let me explain in short. NBC dismissed Chris when photo's emerged of his cheating and kissing his mistress. He tried to start up a "To catch a predator" reboot from kickstarter which promised some perk/items from doing so. Kickstarter fell short and he walked with $90k and kickstarter backers(Majority of them) did not get anything. Behind the scenes during the kickstarter campaign, he bounced cheques of about $13k to Promotional Sales LTD to get marketing goods and in 2019 he got charged for larceny over this. (Also in 2019, he got evicted out of his NY apt. for not paying rent) American express said he owed about $60k on his card. Ally financial filed that he borrowed over $65k to buy a corvette and stopped making payments after a couple years.

I really tried to warn people that Hansen wasn't the guy they thought he was. I'd seen what he did to his own community, the whole TCAP situation, Mista GGs videos, the fact that from day one, Vince told the handful of subs they had, that the reason for Chris Hansen's KZbin channel was to get a ton of subscribers to prove to network tv that he can still attract a audience, and the goal was to get a syndicated show on network TV When everyone was so excited, I tried to tell myself maybe I was wrong. I stopped watching his streams and tried sending the audio of Mike Morse apologising for groping this random woman, to creators who were covering the Hansen channel but people still wanted to trust Hansen I got so much hate for stating the fact that Hansen wasn't a predator hunter. He was a host. Had Chris Hansen never been born, someone else would of hosted TCAP. All's Chris did was show up, get his hair and makeup done, confront the predator. The real work was the countless volunteers with perverted justice, who would go to these chatrooms and set the bait, the production team and the police. Chris didn't have the power, perverted justice, the police, and NBCs massive production team, caught predators and had connections.

In case anyone is curious, prepare for a text dump of lore; Right before the whole Vincent Nicotra fiasco, Chris had received a false copyright strike on one of his videos from a disgruntled Temple of TCAP member who was not able to score an interview with him (whether one was promised or not I do not know but their behavior was not justified) which caused Hansen and Nicotra to set fire to the very same To Catch A Predator fanbase that had kept Hansen relevant for all these years. DMCA strikes left and right, anything that was TCAP related was getting flagged for takedowns on the grounds that since Chris's face was in the footage of all TCAP clips (despite many videos being predator chat log analyses, parodies, original content based on predators etc) even though legally speaking I think only NBC can claim copyright on those. Heard of the youtuber BasedShaman? Used to be a figurehead for the Church of Cawd, a TCAP subcommunity pretending one of the guys caught in the sting is a god until some internal drama drove poor Shaman out (fawkin' Nathaniel!) Shaman had made many videos pretending to be that same predator while doing ridiculous sketches, most if not all being completely unrelated to TCAP itself and still he was hit with enough DMCA notices to warrant almost having his channel deleted since Shaman was pretending to be a predator that appeared on the show Chris hosted and that somehow meant the copyright to TCAP material Hansen had somehow been convinced he owned was being violated. All of that because of old videos BasedShaman posted years before any of this takedown nonsense. That's just one of many examples of the tomfoolery Hansen and Nicotra had pulled on their community. For reference, Chris Hansen turning on his audience was to the TCAP community what Jesus deciding to join Satan would be to Catholics; the ultimate betrayal. He was a figurehead, a living legend to the very community that memed the hell out of the men he caught and interviewed. He stabbed them in the back because of the actions of a single member and worse yet completely ignored people who called it to his attention and acted like there was nothing wrong for the longest time, until that fat imbecile Nicotra spewing racist BS about WesMost, threatening physical harm and doxxing detractors (TCAP members and just anyone who spoke out against him) started to threaten Hansen's public image. Nicotra was fired only after viewers began mounting pressure on Hansen to explain shitcotra's extreme toxicity and the false DMCA's. Chris of course dragged his feet really hard on addressing the issues and waited MONTHS before trying to fix any of the mess. *THEN* all of the onionloser nonsense gained a surge of interest and Hansen decided to reclaim his glory days through a single high-profile bust. This led to the chaos he caused in the TCAP community to be completely swept under the rug, as many so badly desired to see Hansen "get" onision that no fault could be allowed to be acknowledged as it would ruin the image of Chris as a knight in shining armor. Ex-supporters were trying to warn the community to Hansen's BS but were met with dismissal and hostility from poor individuals desperate to see greg brought to justice despite the fact the man they chose as their champion was a proven jerk and conman. You ever see people arguing in the comments over why they thought Hansen would not be able to pull off busting Greg in the days of onion saga? Chances are they were a disgruntled Hansen vs. Predator website kickstarter supporter or a TCAPper that he and shitcotra gave the finger to... Or just a really perceptive internet user. Either way, they were trying to warn the anti-onision community and nobody was listening. All of this info is still out there, the best recollections of these events come from BakedSalmon and WestMost who were kinda in the middle of it all. Toad Mckinley also made a good two-parter that gives a very unbiased recollection of events. I would check them all out if you want to learn more about Hansen's internet activity prior to the onionson fiasco. And thanks for reading through all this... if you are more familiar with the lore and I got some things wrong PLEASE correct me, this is some important history that we can not afford to get wrong. Chris Hansen was the chosen one. He was meant to bring a little justice to youtube, not leave it in darkness. You were our host, Hansen. And we loved you.
