Chris, eaea is the sound made in some Spanish lullabies. It doesn't actually mean anything but, like many sounds in songs for very young children, it's simply repetition of letter groupings they will need to learn when they speak & is a means of encouraging them to start speaking. The song is a lullaby to her imaginary child & is basically an ode to her Andalusian grandmother, integrating flamenco & the language of Federico García Llorca, especially the imaginary involving the moon. García Llorca always used the moon in his poetry & plays, & each time it meant something different to him. Sometimes the moon is masculine, violent, bloody, sterile & brings death, yet at other times it's feminine, mystical, loving, fertile, soft & beautiful. Here Blanca is using it to talk about her love for her grandmother, the link between women in families, the link between a mother & child, & the importance of recognising, acknowledging &, sometimes, embracing our roots. Although I like some flamenco & love the works of García Lorca & thoroughly enjoy literature which makes you think, this song misses the mark for me. I can see its brilliance & appreciate Blanca's obvious talent, but it's not something I particularly enjoy. For 3 minutes I'm happy but I won't listen to it again. 🙂
@angelicab7030 Жыл бұрын
Right, eaea has no meaning, but it's not used to encourage to start speaking, it's sung to babies to help them relax and fall asleep.
@ZakhadWOW Жыл бұрын
I tend to be very unhappy about how much of the world outside Speain blurs over the DRAMATIC differences between Catalunya and Castilla, and Andalucia and Castilla. Andalucia is a separate culture, and much like the Neapolitans, has become the face of so much of the sterotypical outside view of the music etc.

Wow, thanks for the analysis. Reading this I thought you were about to say you like it a lot so seeing you actually are not a fan makes me lift my hat because you were very respectful to both the artist and the work done to make the song. From the bottom of my heart thank you.
@angelaburrow8114 Жыл бұрын
@@angelicab7030 You're right, angelica. I'd not thought of that. I think it's a combination of both comfort & preparation for speaking. At least it is in English & I can't see it being different in Spanish. I admit it's a long time since I studied Spanish linguistics though. Lol
@angelaburrow8114 Жыл бұрын
@@evilynnigirlie No thanks needed Stefanie. 🙂 I can clearly see the quality in the song & how talented Blanca is, it's simply not my cup of tea. That doesn't means it's bad, it's just not my choice. I think that any song that is chosen to represent a country at Eurovision must be great by definition, otherwise it wouldn't have been chosen. Plus I love Eurovision, so I'd be mad to be unkind about singers or their songs. If the Eurovision community is nasty to them, why would they bother taking part? That's why I try not to disparage the artists. The only one I'm struggling with this year is Poland, simply because of the jury rigging by TVP. Some reactors are saying it's not Blanka's fault so we shouldn't have a downer on her. I disagree. She knows what happened & she's happy to benefit from it so is just as complicit in my opinion. I cannot support dishonesty like that, especially when the Polish people didn't want her to win. I feel sorry for them, having a poor song imposed on them when they could have had a talented avant-guard singer-songwriter like Jann. 🙂

Here for Chris and others líric of Spanish entry 🇪🇦 this year. Viel Erfolg Chris, ❤ ein tolles Lied, voller Power. Oh my sweet child, come to me, come to me, to sleep by my side. In my chest you will find shelter. Shelter and relieve to all your griefs. Ya Ea Ea Ya Ea Ea. ( Spanish Expression sweet when mothers embrace their childrens to make them sleep peacefully and calm them down of fears and tears) Nile River tears and sleepless nights ( that reminds Lorca Poem) My child when I die , bury me in the Moon ( circle White of the performance) and all nights I see you, all nights I see you, all nights I can see you, but one night ( here refers although only just one night because she knows and accept there will be one night, she can see him when the Moon is dark, with the new Moon) Oh come to me, my little son, my little one, my lovely son. That in the night your eyes bright my way like two Suns ( Stars, his clear eyes light her way like not only but two Suns, she exagerate the idea, that just watching her son eyes can remove all her pain bringing true meaning for her like mother) Ya Ea Ea Ya Ea Ea. ( Words of confortation and mothers love to feel safe and sound before going sleep meanwhile they carrying in their arms) thats It, and so she repeat same again. In the performance theres a lot reference to Flamenco like that red curtain circle symbol of the fridge shawl dancers. The Arrow when light on that red colour symbolism of life and Blood, dancers or priestesess rythm is like they were in trance or ecstasy invoking their ancestors . Actually Blanca dedicate this song to her passaway grandmother Who taught her to sing Flamenco, only Blood connection that since she just been a child felt so close. Her grandmother sung her these similars Flamenco lullaby when she was just a little girl. And now she wrote this one back to her memory. The most special one according to her, which saw in her the perfect inheritor to give away that passion and continue that privilege and extraordinary legacy.
