Here's the thing: We all know someone who has had a heart attack. We all know someone who has had the procedure that he had. He didn't need a bypass. That is a bigger deal. It was only stents. We all know people who continued to live a normal life after much worse cardiac events than what he had. Not only did they do well, but they continued to live on for decades afterwards. Dick Cheney was a heartbeat from the presidency, when he didn't even have a heartbeat. This isn't your great great grandfather's heart attack. Nowadays, people live normal lives after a heart attack.
@aryastark31485 жыл бұрын
@MEN56 It has nothing to do with Bernie's personality, or a cult of personality. It's about the platform. He is the only one carrying this platform, and with integrity. Failure for us is not an option. You can lay off the pathetic personal attacks on supporters, thanks. We're just people trying to make the world a better place and perhaps move towards saving what's left of it.
@mmedefarge5 жыл бұрын
Men56 Much is dependent on the health of the person before they had stents implanted. Many people have stents and go on to live much beyond their stent placement. Bernie is very sharp mentally, so unlike Biden or Trump. Many people are out in the work force with stents. If Dick Cheney can run the White House with 5 heart attacks and several cardiac bypass surgeries under his belt, Bernie can be prez with a couple of stents. That's why there are V.P.'s. He's the best of the candidates; ageism need not be a consideration.
@mmedefarge5 жыл бұрын
Men56 That's ageist, you have no bonafide reason. Claiming someone is "too old" is not a reason. Gabbard polls at about 2%. While she is very strong on foreign policy, she's equally as weak on domestic policy. She has no plans, just a lot of generalities. She'll have to do a lot better than that. She's got a long way to go before she's ready to be POTUS.
@Kinkle_Z5 жыл бұрын
Yeah but you know how stupid voters are.
@dscully18085 жыл бұрын
@MEN56 Everyone doesn't age the same. Bernie has a brother who is also active in politics and holds office in England. So, we can get a good picture of Bernie's longevity and such from looking at his actual family. We also had access to his health records four years ago. He literally made it to advanced age without any comorbidities. Did your father and grandfather have comorbidities before they were 60. Bernie didn't. His only anomaly was elevated cholesterol. Apparently, he did not sufficiently change his diet or control his lipids effectively with statins. I am not supporting Bernie expecting him to be there for 8 years. I support him because he is the only candidate in the race that is fighting for my ideals. I am a pro-democracy voter. So, I only support leftists. Even if he is only healthy enough in office to sit in the oval office for a year, then that is one year that fascists aren't pushing the fascist football further down the field. Bernie's mind is quite fit. He has access to good doctors and care that most of us will never know. When I was in college, I had professors older than Bernie, and some of the minds that I respect most today are older than Bernie. Everyone doesn't age the same. We have older people than he on the supreme court. There is no one else in the race that I can support. That's not cultist thinking. The fact that none of you condescending folks never seem to get is that Bernie supporters support him for his policies. There is no one else. Don't even say Warren, because she is literally just saying whatever she thinks needs to be said. She will never go to the mat fighting for anything. She will try to get a good photo op though. Also, the super delegates will never support her. You need to take a moment to try to figure out why you can't support democracy and can only support people who will lead you to subjugation beneath a brutal authoritarian regime. That ain't me.

Look it's a medical fact that when someone comes to hospital breathing but with chest pain, it is not immediately obvious weather they are having a heart attack, or angina, or indigestion or some other cardiac or digestive tract thing. Figuring that out, and what needs to be done about it, and then doing that takes some investigations which takes a bit of time (I'm talking about 18 hours to 4 days sort of time frame). For his campaign to come out and declare that he had had a heart attack before anyone really knew what was actually going on would have been absurd because they couldn't have known. They simply didn't have the facts yet, and it could have been indigestion, or a kidney stone or angina or a thousand different things. Even by the time the stents were being inserted they wouldn't necessarily have known for sure weather or not he had technically had a heart attack. I've been a Registered nurse for 25 years, so this process is very familiar to me.

I disagree with their take on the timing of the messaging with Bernie’s health. 3 days was fine; it wasn’t a big deal. Anyone who has experience with family or friends who have gone through this know this. There are degrees of severity with heart attacks. Any heart attack is serious and life-threatening without treatment - no doubt. But he didn’t need open-heart / bypass surgery (which leaves you incapacitated for at least a few weeks or months). It took my family member months to fully recover after open-heart surgery, and he was mostly bedridden for a month. He’s doing well now and can walk around, drive, etc. just fine. Bernie’s heart attack was relatively mild, and it required stents (not open-heart surgery), and he’s looking & sounding great after a mere few days. If Bernie had required open-heart surgery, then this would be a COMPLETELY different issue. Bernie’s already been an inspiration for so many reasons, but seeing him immediately tweet about the need for #M4A from the hospital, and recover so quickly & in a way that has strengthened his body by allowing better blood flow, has truly been awe-inspiring for me to see.

Anyone eating the Standard American Diet(SAD) has a very high risk of artery disease. Stents and bypasses are overdone especially in the US. Bernie must continue to help save us otherwise we will die.

Thanks for a very good show. Very clean. Great to hear Chris talking about his early stringer days. It's just too damn bad that Hedges can't be the host of a nightly or even weekly network news program. If anyone in the U.S. could do it right, it's Chris Hedges.

Hedges was legitimate in the 1980’s. But unlike his other former colleagues who covered Central America and broke stories, Hedges sold out to the Russian State Media. This is not a respectable choice. Nothing is more amusing ( or disappointing )than to see Hedges and Rick Sanchez together on RT. As they say...he made his bed...

And yet she HAS DONE BIG DONOR FUNDRAISERS this cycle, breaking that pledge. At least 2 of them thus far, DNC $10k entry, $50k for a photo fundraisers, with a limit of donation coming in at $300,000!!!! And of course, she transferred $10 million from her 2018 senate campaign, where she collected plenty of big donations, money from PACs and dark money, no doubt. Obviously knowing she was running for Prez. Which is your joke, of course. But we need not reinforce that fable she is being at all honest. Warren - Great for 2008, but now it's too late!
@johndecicco5 жыл бұрын
@@custodiancolorzoo870 Agree. Even with the vague awareness I have of politics, her flip flopping even struck me. Her unabashedness, arrogance, and underestimation of her supporters. I remember very well in 2016 when Warren dropped her supporters and ideology like a hot rock when she caught a whiff of maybe being Hillary's BFF. That was stunning...and the true Elizabeth Warren.

Cats make wonderful companions. I had one that we called "cat dog." He'd come running every time you called his name and was friendly to everyone. If you play with them everyday they quickly become your friend. Dogs are great but so aren't cats. Both are different and special in their own ways.

So interesting what Chris Hedges said about not being able to get into journalism. I desperately want to, but I don't know how. I traveled all through China and interviewed hundreds of people about their cultural identity and wrote a paper on it. I spoke to soldiers, indigenous peoples of all kinds, police, mob bosses, and everyone in between. Just like he said however, I for the life of me cannot figure out where I'd start if I wanted to submit articles on China, being as my experience and information completely negates what we are told in the mainstream media. I wish I could get some direction on that. I'm fluent in Mandarin in Spanish for what its worth.
