Love,, love Chris Isaak. I was so very excited to attend his concert. I was beside myself !!!!

These guys have been with Chris for ever, that's why they are so tight. Chris has played with the best - Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc. and had his own TV show back in the day.

They did a pretty damn good job live with that song. I would suggest now on your own go listen to the studio version. It's so freaking good.

Chris Bought the black leather suit Elvis wore on the '68 Comeback Special, and he wore it to sing Devil in Disguise on a documentary about the King. He's a big fan of Gene Vincent, but I don't recall him ever covering a Gene Vincent song. He's done Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash, but mostly this band (Chris Isaak and the Silvertones) has been together for more years than I can remember, and they do songs that Chris wrote. They hang out after shows and talk to people, and they're a really nice bunch of guys. Sax player Johnny Reno isn't always with them, but when he is, he's dynamite. Without him, the band is still excellent, and they sound like musicians who've played together for many years. They seem to read each other's minds. Among his fans, the joke is that if Elvis and Roy Orbison even had a love child, it would be Chris. Roy Orbison helped him in the early stages of his career, and they had a mutual admiration society.

Chris Isaac opened for Roy Orbison in his early years and said he would hang around and Orbison would talk to him and helped Isaac with his career. Chris Isaac covered "Only The Lonely", and does a remarkable job that sounds a lot like Roy Orbison.

Chris has many influences in his music and Elvis is one of them. If you check out his first hit “Blue Hotel” you will also hear some obvious Roy Orbison influence. This also has some clear rockabilly influence as well as blues sounds.

Chris Isaak did a whole album of covers of songs from the legendary Sun Studios, including a few Elvis tunes - It's Now or Never; I Forgot to Remember to Forget; Can't Help Falling in Love; My Happiness; My Baby Happiness; I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry; & Love Me. He also tossed a few covers from other artists on his various albums.

Chris's band are called Silvertone and they're every bit as responsible for the music as Chris himself. And I don't say that only because of my 30 year crush on Kenney!

If his style was more like "Wicked Game," he probably would have had a lot more success. He and his band are quite talented, but the Rockabilly sound is for more of a particular audience than a wide one.

This song was used (to great effect) in the trailer for Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" when it was being released over 20 years ago. They synced scenes from the movie with this song with a perfection that made it look like they based the movie on this song. After all these years I can still remember that trailer and wondering who that singer was?

Gotta try Wicked Game and others off that album and the surrounding ones. If the soaring high vocals and transition into lower registers doesn't hypnotize you, you have no soul. Or at least no permeability that would render you subject to our common mortal ranks. Also suggest Kat Edmonson's "Nobody Knows," a near-perfect circle of story with exquisite phrasing.

lyrics Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing You ever love someone so much you thought your little heart was gonna break in two? I didn't think so You ever tried with all your heart and soul to get you lover back to you? I want to hope so You ever pray with all your heart and soul just to watch her walk away? Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing Feel like crying Feel like crying You ever toss and turn your lying awake and thinking about the one you love? I don't think so You ever close your eyes your making believe your holding the one your dreaming of? Well if you say so I hurts so bad when you finally know just how low, low, low, low, low, she'll go Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing Baby did a bad bad thing Feel like crying I feel like crying Oh feel like crying Feel like crying Oh, feel like crying Feel like crying Source: LyricFind

If you LOVE Chris Isaak like i do, you will absolutely LOVE a lesser known band called 'the Broken View' and might i suggest you listen to my favorite song 'Something Better"! Isaac reminds me not of Elvis, but a lot of Johnny Cash.

Correction: though Isaak does a fine version of Over the Rainbow with Jerry Lee Lewis it is Israel Kamakawiwo's version I meant for you to sample. After Judy's this is the best version. I'm always thinking Isaak did it. Also HARRI, sorry I misspelled your name. I did a bad bad thing🙄

My favorite version of "Rainbow" is from Eva Cassidy. It is the most moving, and the most unique, and has literally brought many people to tears (including Harry, if I remember correctly). If you haven't heard it, I suggest you watch her live performance from Blues Alley on KZbin.

Thought? I think I had one. Which was.. It's kind of wrong and sad, though there's not much other choice. For today's reactors (Whom know so little about all the context for what society was like back in the day). For today's reactors, to literally whiz speed through incredible songs. Not that they don't play the song out. I mean, that there were societal events, personal events for everyone who heard these songs come through over the years on radio and on records. I just find that sad that reactors know so little, and can't feel the joy and impact of these songs in real life time. All these intensely epic songs were not created just to fit into a binge stream. But that's basically the speed they are consumed by today's people. I can't even count how many youtube reactors who've said that they've never even been to a concert!!! And, both they can't comprehend and wish intensely for the experience of seeing a show in a huge stadium sized crowd. So, I find it a bit sad to see reactors consume such cultural milestones like they are eating bowls of cereal, one after the other after the other. I could go on.. cheapens the experience, just all about ad revenue to churn reactions out. Oh well, we're going into dystopia after all..
