I was 26 living in North Bergen NJ and driving to Albany NY for a conference, Spring 1991, left at 9pm dark outside and alone in the car...I heard this in WPLJ for the first time and was floored...it put me in a mystical mood for the 3 hr night drive...30 years later and I still think of that drive...meanwhile I just forgot what I came into a room for LOL...that ride tho...

@@JF-NYC-NJ-Girl I was familiar with earlier Chris Issak. Rich Robinson vacated his apartment and he was a DJ at 106.3 WHTG. I got hold of Heart shaped world. On my work day I requested Kings of the Highway from the same record. I was amazed to hear it on my radio. I saw Chris Isakk in NYC. After the show with Fiona Apple he signed autographs. With 12 people left. I went up with a hat and a tshirt. Chris drew a cartoon on my hat and stood up and said thank you for coming as he shook my hand. I felt like I was somebody more than I was!!

For the longest time I thought it was "This girl is only gonna break your heart."
This sing is from way before your time girl. Came out in 1989 with I was 17 years old. That being said watching the emotions on your face during this reaction told me that this is your song now. Great music is timeless. :)

So glad "this generation" has a chance to hear "Wicked Games" by Rick Isaak. It is a classic and if you've never heard of the late Roy Orbison (or even Elvis!), you will hear the sound of a timeless era that was as naturally beautiful as its stories were pure of love. Kudos to guitarist Jame Calvin Wilsey as well for his hauntingly beautiful intro.
