So glad "this generation" has a chance to hear "Wicked Games" by Chris Isaak. It is a classic and if you've never heard of the late Roy Orbison (or even Elvis!), you will hear the sound of a timeless era that was as naturally beautiful as its stories were pure of love. Kudos to guitarist Jame Calvin Wilsey as well for his hauntingly beautiful intro.

Yeah, that official video was a bad choice, in my opinion. It distracts from the deeper heartbreak vibe of the song with that phony arty/softcore sexy scene on the beach. I'm surprised Chris Isaak went with that scenario with Herb Ritts, a vastly overrated photographer directing the video. The song itself is so much deeper and more authentic than that video.

That is the commercial release but this live version music and his voice are better in my opinion. The video is good though.

I disagree. As I said to another commenter, that "official video" is kind of cheesy softcore sex in approach and it cheapens the song. The live version with CI and band on a soundstage is actually a better way to watch him while hearing the song, though the original recording is very strong.

I love the song but I prefer the music video version. That one is at a slower tempo and IMO more relaxed and powerful because if it. Yes the video itself is well done and sexy etc etc but the way the song is slowed slightly vs this version is again IMO much better.
