That was the best match of the night. It was short sweet straight to the point, and involved two musclular men beating the crap out of each other. Nobody wants to watch 2 fat tards fight (Jericho and Owens), hence why they were demoted on the card. Vince knows what draws, and it isn't fat people.

One thing about Goldberg he looks good right but he doesn't know how to wrestle you would think of all of these years of wrestling or being in the business he would learn how to wrestle. I heard like he injured a lot of people he's just bad. I would have rather had a sting come over and do a tag team match with the Undertaker then Goldberg giving himself a concussion and knocking himself out in the ring against the Undertaker so yeah

Jericho vs. Owens was easily one of the top 2 or 3 best matches of WrestleMania 33 . I don’t know what Vince was smoking that night if he did indeed say that.

Vince has a really big hard on for a very specific type of person (Think exactly Reigns.) Big, muscular, can't act for shit. Jericho and Owens both famously don't fit Vince's mold, and now you have both in one match, and it could have sparked the rapture, Vince would have thought it was ass.

It's good to see how humble and not at all bitter Jericho is after having a 19-year WWE career that most could only dream of. One match doesn't go his way: "I knew it was time for me to leave."

It's less about the one singular match and more that he recognized WWE was developing bad habits that he wanted no part of. Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho is an EASY Main Event to book, and Brock vs Goldberg 3 did not need any gold on the line; Brock's pride being on the line was big enough, given how badly he'd lost to Goldberg at Survivor Series. They went from prime placement, main eventing the biggest show WWE puts on, with probably 25-30 minutes to do their match and absolutely tear the house down, down to extremely poor match timing with maybe 10-15 minutes to play it out. They had a long-form story being told that the crowd was absolutely ravenous for, they're both very good performers with deep movesets and great in-ring storytelling skills, they have the stamina to do 20-30 minute matches, and they were promised very high billing at WrestleMania. To be frank, they got robbed, probably by backroom politics with Goldberg and/or Lesnar being unwilling to accept lower placement on the match card, and as a result, that WrestleMania was significantly worse off for it. And that was NOT a 'Mania that needed to be worse. Yeah, they still had a good match for the time they were allotted, but they could have torn the house down as the Main Event over the Universal title. And it wasn't just that one thing that convinced Jericho, I imagine it was a straw that broke the back, made him realize he'd be better utilized elsewhere, and he absolutely has been. Jericho has been instrumental into building AEW up to be a legitimate brand all its own. Will he come back to WWE? I'd like to think Chris will have one final year or two in WWE to close out his career, but maybe that's not in the cards. But, as recent events very clearly show.... Never say never in the WWE.

good storylines draw crowds that watch the program every week. big names draw casual crowds. especially at wrestlemania. love it or hate it but that's how the business goes. that is why the rock took cm punk's main event, why ronda was in the main event, brock, reigns, etc.

I went to the fast lane PPV for that WM….. they screwed up the OWEN Goldberg finish by accidentally playing Jerico’s entrance music during the dark period just before the match , so EVERYONE in the arena KNEW pretty much what the finish would be

I loved when Brock beat the streak, everyone says he should have never lost, but for real, the man is treated like a god in WWE, and that’s what the older wrestlers should do for the current guys, is put them over, and no one was a better choice than Brock, another thing is there’s only a couple of pure shocking things you see in a lifetime, and that was one of em. I absolutely loved it

Tbf Wrestlemania 30 didn't age that great as a whole Taker's streak should've have ended at some point but I don't think it really benefitted Lesnar though I guess at the time there was no one believable It definitely would've benefited Roman Reigns but at that time he wasn't really good on mic skills and WWE was still trying to push him as the guy

Man, I used to love listening to Jericho tell backstage stories about his career and the business, but it seems like he tells the same 20 stories these days and he tells them the exact same way every time. It’s like ok either he thinks he’s telling it for the first time, or thinks that not every wrestling fan never listens to any of his content so he has to tell it over n over, and I notice some little details change here and there, but every thing he’s done is genius, n I don’t want to be one of these people that hate on Jericho for no reason except their just hateful trolls. He’s one of my favorite wrestlers ever, but idk, he’s hard to listen to these days, I mean he’s done a lot of great things, and history making things like with AEW, but not every angle and match he does is perfect, but he goes beyond and thinks it is. Idk, I hate saying this, but I get why people are annoyed by him.

All of these were worse and MANY more i dont have the time to list....Undertaker v. Giant Gonzalez, Cole v. Lawler, Rocky Maivia v. Sultan, jersey shore tag match, Anything Goldberg, Mysterio v. JBL, Chavo V. Kane ECW Title, even Daniel Bryan v. Sheamus 3 sec waste of talent esp for a World title(Main Event/Opening Match instead of Closing).... I can go on and on if I keep going through every WM in history

I'll say this about Jericho and Owens Wrestlemania match: REGARDLESS of if they had the Universal Title or Main Event or whatever, their match did NOT follow on the story that had been told. They went out and had a very good wrestling match, when the story they were telling demanded a more intense match where the story was them hating each other, it should have been a hate filled brawl with soap opera style drama. Instead, they had like...a basic "good wrestling match", including a comedy spot with Owen's finger on the rope. Like, the match they had didn't follow up on their story at all, and while the match was FINE, it wasn't memorable. AJ Styles vs Shane McMahon had a better match. Hell, Goldberg, the guy everybody hated for beating Owens with the belt, had the fucking Sleeper Hit of the night with a great match, with even LESS TIME than Jericho and Owens got. Owens and Jericho focused too much on catering to Meltzer and star ratings and smarks, rather than focusing on the match they SHOULD have had for the story they were telling. It was obvious that Vince wanted ONE thing, and Jericho and Owens didn't deliver on it.
