@ShadowAngel Jericho was mega hot back in his debut in 1999 and his feuds with hhh in 2000-2002 were hot as hell he's a big draw in every promotion he's in and always a maineventer except for modern wwe (even though he's on the list of people who can still get big pops from the usally dead silent audience)
@WarhawkBeyond20404 жыл бұрын
2008 for me was the last great year of long storytelling and extended feuds. As much as I loved Undertaker and Edge's feud on Smackdown which produced 5 back to back great matches, I found the Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels story on Raw to be a lot more emotional and personal than their 2003 feud. Chris Jericho went from being a cocky fan who wanted to be better than his hero into a real devious villain with the short hair and dark suit, he wanted to completely destroy HBK and show everyone that he's nothing more than a liar. From April 08 - Oct 08, these two delivered their best work both in the ring and out of the ring. I still say this was one of the last great classic feuds in wrestling and proof that extended programs can still work in the modern era.

The most intriguing aspect of this feud was that every gripe directed towards Shawn from Chris (in character) carried an element of truth. Shawn was, behind the scenes, a Prima Donna concerned more about his ego than anything else, willing to do anything to stroke it. Chris had a legitimate point when he called him a backstabber and how the fans still sided with him while booing Chris's criticisms. The animosity felt real despite the fact these two were friends outside of their roles.

Their feud in 2008 was more intense then their one in 2003. Jericho was the best heel in WWE in 2008 that everyone wanted to hate. He played the character really well. Not just that, he changed his ring attire, he became the World Heavyweight Champion, his matches not just with HBK, but with Batista, CM Punk and end the year feuding with John Cena. When wretlers had some freedom to speak their minds on the mic. Now all we see is wrestlers that are given scripts that have no reason to be. Wwe needs to let talent bring what they got. Like they did with Strownman having him tag with an eleven years old boy. He was flipping cars and went the next day like the Monsters Inc. Characther doing childish stuff. You can ask a talent to get over and the next day buried him like they have with most of the roster. If i was Vince a take one of the shows to be family friendly but i keep Raw exactly like its name raw and go beyond the envelope once in a while.
