I had my SI joint kicked out sparring in 2012. And once it was put back in but the chiropractor, he told me it was like a sprained ankle where the ligaments would be weaker and I would have to be extra careful. It would keep going out at least once a month, at the stupidest times, like leaning the wrong way to pick up even a 10 pound dumbbell. I had to stop lifting altogether. Then I discovered DDP Yoga. This was 2013. I did it exclusively for a year, and my SI joint never went out during that year. Second year, I kept doing it four days a week, and added in a day of weight training. SI joint never went out. Third year on, I was able to go back to lifting again, three days a week, and doing DDP Yoga three days a week. SI joint stayed strong. Last fall I had actually gotten lazy for a month from DDP Yoga and guess what happened? My SI joint went out for the first time in 5 years. Even then, everything around it was so strong yet flexible that a. It didn't lay me up, and wasn't nearly as painful and b. Once I was popped back in, I went back to my three days a week DDP Yoga and it's been fine ever since. Incredible program. It's everything they say it is.

Yeah, he was looking old and heavy his last go in WWE. However, this time around he is looking fit and young. I was happy to see Scott Hall and Jake Roberts took up DDP Yoga too...they both are looking way better. I hope one day Cody Hall (Scott's son) makes it to the WWE and teams with Curtis Axel...I think they would be an awesome second generation tagteam.

@bkohler89
@bkohler89 8 жыл бұрын
+Rampage Clover I stopped lifting 300 lbs back in 2009. I only lift for the pump (contractions) makes a HUGE difference in the results you're going to get, plus it's easy on your body. People say to me, "ya but you're young, you can do this stuff?" Ya, maybe I could, but I'm being SMART by stopping while I'm WAY ahead

Hey that's fine, it's not for everyone...but this "you shouldn't do it because it's bad for you" is kinda ignorant..yeah if you do any form of exercise incorrectly and lazily without educating yourself, it'll will fuck you up. Same goes for yoga if you hyper-extend your elbow or knee joints. It's about training smart...not hard...

DDP Yoga uses dynamic resistance to build muscle. You're not lifting weights, but once you do a workout your muscles feel it.

Muscle doesn't just disappear if you stop working out
@MatiasSeraBaterista
@MatiasSeraBaterista 10 жыл бұрын
The use of dynamic resistance is amazing. It's, at times, even harder than lifting weights cause you're using your own strength and muscle tension to make movements that involve the entire body. It is really challenging, but when you're finished with a workout you can really feel you're muscles burning, just like you would with a normal workout, the only difference is that you feel more relaxed, rather than tired. You sweat and your heartbeat feels like pounding, but you don't feel tired
@vincentjflorio
@vincentjflorio 10 жыл бұрын
Similar to what Matias said, there's something to the resistance exercises. I don't think I'll ever be at a Chris Jerico kind of build, to know how or if he can keep that shape going with just that kind of exercise, but I've only been doing DDP Yoga for less than two weeks, and started pushups at the beginning of April, and with that combination I've gained 10 lbs and kept it on after a month and a half. Oddly enough, the DDP has done more to give me definition in that brief time than the pushups by themselves ever could. I'm not qualified to speak on matters of physiology or personal fitness, but maybe if he stays the size he's at that's how his arms react to pushing up a Chris Jerico off the ground?
@justletuslive
@justletuslive 9 жыл бұрын
vincentjflorio Hey sorry to bump these replies but i just tried this today with the dynamic resistance: you have to really really really REALLY flex your entire arm/wrist/finger/shoulders,CHEST, EVERYTHING when you are doing the 'dumbell' curls. *what i did today was a test* i took a 12.5kg dumbell on my right hand and left my left one free: with my left hand i just used dynamic resistance SUPER hard and it got my heart rate up and my arm was feeling it and getting the 'pump'. With the right hand i could curl it and i felt like i could curl it for 100 reps but it wasn't that 'tired' feeling it felt like pain would occur and it would hurt me, i still felt like i am contracting muscles more than dynamic resistance but i eventually preferred to do dynamic resistance over dumbell because its really the same - just no pain.(this is true for everything, you can 'bench press' with dynamic resistance and you can build chest muscle with dynamic resistance). I dont have many weights lying around so i cant build something 'heavier' but i would love to try doing like 30 reps with 16-25kg in one hand and dynamic resistance with another and see how that goes I trained in the GYM for 4 years straight but past month or so i switched to DDP YOGA ITS FUCKING AWESOME!, i am getting closer to standing on my elbows and my goal is to do planche/crow pushups :)

I have been doing some yoga for a little time now just basics really but have noticed a bit of improvement as far as the pain and mobility, I am going to take this to another level and going to invest in a mat and of course DDP Yoga and see what kind of results i can get i have followed your career through out the years and your injury's I have the same issues with my back now as you did been through it all best DR's in the world and all there best solution is send me to a pain clinic, no more in 16 days i will be full on bore with DDP Yoga.

Have you ever done yoga? I have scoliosis. Yoga works better for the pain than lifting weights. That's because it makes your body use ALL of your muscles in the way they were designed to. Weights are good for strength training yes. But what good is it gonna do you if can't even bend down to reach your toes?
@bkohler89

+heavy666metal1 Dude, I tried basic yoga a couple times, not DDP's YRG yoga, just regular yoga. After only one workout, my biceps where pumped with blood due to the positions I was putting my body thru.
