That's great thanks ! The ethical voice is the one in your head telling you to do the right thing 😉

Funny the ethical voice sounds like a Karen

I suppose you mean the solo, it's a stylophone !

@@ChrisJossOfficial Yes thats it, whining at you to do the right thing, rather than an internal voice, its external from a Karen, perhaps a small angel on your shoulder screaming to be heard works better. I dont necessarily want to attribute Karens as being ethically correct, but that was my first take on it, a reflection of the content I have consumed of late. Of course thats my personal interpretation and is probably completely different to your intent, I love open ended music, the same track can mean so many things to different people.

It's strange because when I was playing with the stylophone on its own going through various effects I thought it sounded like someone shouting at the top of a minaret if you see what I mean, because of the way you can slide through the notes very quickly with the pen it can sound like the modulations of a voice. When I used it in the track I forgot about that resemblance and just played a solo of sounds. Then at the end of an album comes the unbelievably complicated step (for me) of finding titles to instrumental tracks. When I opted on ethical voice I made no connection with the solo, it was meant as the quiet voice that knows what's right and that I should listen when in doubt. But obviously as a listener it seems fair to associate the title with that solo ! Because I recorded the stylophone at a late stage in the making of the track I was more into the general vibe of the track. That track uses 2 instruments I'd never used before the stylo phone and a khamak, an Indian drum you can hear at the drum break, it also has some voice quality as you tune the skin with a string as you play, which can give it some voice intonation. Summing up I hope your ethical voice doesn't scream like that haha, thanks for pointing that out in a funny way !

@@ChrisJossOfficial I have often wondered if artists just choose random words for non vocal tracks, im glad to hear this is not the case on your track, however it would still excite my imagination even if it was random, making connections. No my ethical voice is ever present, which means it must often be ignored in order to exist in the real human world without going insane or rather completely insane hehe. I cannot fully describe just how music can bring levity, but it does thankfully ,and for me at least music is a great escape. In a universe of infinite possibility I would like to believe that music has its own dimension, I put it with thought as the yet unconfirmed dimensions just slightly outside our perception, I have described the styles of music I go for as being the playful sounds of man. And yes I can see what you mean when you say it made you think of a minaret, calling, summoning or giving direction. I had to look up what a minaret is, oops did I say that out loud.
