Do you gate the HighHat on this tune? Your HH open and close tone and timing is exceptional. It is hard to believe that the drums are your 4th instrument. You are really good.

Hey Kyle, thanks man, well it's number one in my heart ! The instrument I've been practicing the most with guitar these past years. At the time of recording this track though it wasn't. I started that track when I smashed my right elbow Dec 2005 and spent afternoons with my arm in a re-education machine at the hospital while making tracks with loops on a laptop with my left hand. Through the years I worked on the tracks, replacing drum loops with real drums, I did that on this one in 2010. Later I got a minimoog and between 2013 and 2017 replaced the synths and reworked on bits, recorded the congas. Anyway I just checked one of the 2 drum loops I'd used was being used faster than original speed so I recorded my drums at the speed of the original drum loop, and sped up my drums, so that gives a tighter playing than it actually was. And recorded and used the other drums at normal speed, so you can hear both drums playing against each other giving complex beats I didn't play at once. And in 2019 I thought the track would fit the album out in 2020, mixing it to fit the other tracks
