Enjoyed this convo. Grew up enjoying Kattan on SNL and I find that Rick is very interesting and funny. When Rick speaks about energy in regard to stand up-as a fan of stand up-I’m generally not a big fan of constant “big” energy in stand up. I think that desire for “energy” in comics often times translates into a feeling of them being too “eager” or having artificial enthusiasm to the audience (at least to me). I view stand up comedy similar to a sports car. A sports car is not very fun if you push it to its limits 100% of the time-it’s far more enjoyable if you drive it normally and then push it to it’s limits every now and then. I think this is why I prefer the podcasts/skits of certain comedians more than I do their stand up. For example-with Joe Rogan and Rick Glassman-I very much prefer their podcasts to their stand up. I like them having authentic interesting conversations but spiking them with the occasional boosts of comedic energy. Even with SNL-high energy guys like Farley and Kattan worked because they were short skits. The lower energy parts of stand up I think are wonderful for creating anticipation and they allow the audience to breathe a little.

I don’t feel like this should’ve been posted, I see Rick trying very hard to connect but Chris just doesn’t follow along and understand allot of the questions and it’s just sad to be honest to see him this way cause I’ve always been curious how or why he fell off after movies like Roxbury or Romano but I feel bad even myself trying to connect and understand him but he doesn’t want to speak on anything and is very short with his responses no pun intended whether that’s intentional or not

Norm MacDonald famous quote to Rolling Stone Magazine on Chris Kattan. *Norm - "I don't know, but to me he seems gay," "He claims he's not, but I've never seen, like, a guy who's not gay seem so gay. I don't find him funny. What can I say? Never made me laugh."* Kattan - "Norm gives me a hard time, my hair got longer over the summer and he will not stop talking about what a gay little man I am". "If Norm says I'm gay then put in that I say he's an asshole."

A surprise. A gift. Two legends. Also. I've said it before but I'll say it again. "Gulp gulp gulp" bits got legs for days.

Rick kinda pushed it on this one. Chris Kattan is a treasure and wish he would’ve been allowed to “turn it on” and not just prodded about his physical condition/comedy. I think he wanted to play, but was taken off guard by the line of questioning. I know their were no ill intentions on Rick’s part though, just kind of a bummer the way it turned out. Hopefully he comes back! Looking forward to the silly episode.

This was such a great episode. If people look back at who Chris used to be, they would have a different view point. I think it's great Rick invited him on.

Gotdamn, seeing Chris Kattan for the the first time in forever made me realize how quick the time goes. I’m Old AF! I think he stroked out at 20:49 😆

I’m having a hard time believing that Chris isn’t trolling Rick this whole time. Not one smile on his face basically the whole time. Man’s a professional.

15:45 is where I burst out laughing this is actually incredible work! It’s subtle but if you pay close attention you can clearly see they’re doing a bit and it’s quite amazing. New respect for both these guys. I can see why Redbar hardly makes fun of Rick anymore, just a tiny jab here and there and then quickly moves on. Glassman is coming into his own I just hope he calms down on inserting so many burned in ads in the future. Seems like that’s already the case though we’ll see.
