I am a disabled vet who had three combat tours when I was young. At that time, I reduced all I wanted to say to God to just two things. They became my only two prayers, “just one word each.” “Please” is one, and the other is “Mercy.” All those years, all those experiences, and those two prayers I could always use quickly, in all situations, so simple, kept me somewhat sane as I learned and experienced just how genuinely insane this world can be. Being such a simple man, I feel that believing in God enough to talk to him is "a good thing," even if I am only talking to myself or just a little nuts.

This is what people don't understand. God is not all inclusive. It's not all rosy petals. Hell is a place where God doesn't exist. You don't even know him. Imagine a place void of good, not one speck of God is present in hell. I can not imagine being separated from God. It is my worst fear, my only fear. I had to cry hard, and search adamantly before God could come to me. Best thing that ever happened to me. I still fail everyday but my faith never falters.

Can someone ask Chris about dark matter, black holes, and the hierarchy problem?
@ap007-s2jАй бұрын
First, I want to clarify that I’m not a religious person, though I’m not opposed to religion either. I truly appreciate Chris’s work with the CTMU model and find it fascinating. As someone new to it, I plan to explore it more deeply, so please forgive me if my question has already been addressed. I’m curious about how the CTMU aligns with dogma. The model resonates with me overall, but I find myself questioning one aspect: Chris’s assertion that distancing ourselves from our higher self essentially disassociates us from God. Conceptually, I understand and agree with this, but it raises deeper questions for me. Specifically, Chris suggests that God cannot accept someone who denies Him or behaves in ways that are not aligned with their highest self. To me, this feels both simplistic and problematic. Religious dogma often serves as the framework through which people connect with God. However, it has also historically fueled conflict and harmful practices, such as child marriages. People from different cultures may believe they’re growing closer to God by adhering to their particular doctrines, even when those doctrines differ widely from one another. Chris’s claims seem to dismiss the diversity of belief systems. While he seeks to objectify and universalize the concept of God, he simultaneously applies what feels like a dogmatic lens, particularly when asserting that God must exclude those who are not "pure." This perspective raises additional concerns. It appears to prioritize one interpretation of God while overlooking the psychological and spiritual frameworks of other cultures, many of which approach closeness to God in entirely different ways. The idea of exclusion based on purity seems subjective and paradoxically restrictive for a being as all-encompassing as God. Isn’t such a limitation counterintuitive to the idea of divine inclusivity and creation? I respect Chris’s intelligence immensely and mean no disrespect, but I’m striving to understand this better. How does the CTMU account for the diversity of spiritual and cultural approaches to God, and does it risk oversimplifying these complex realities?

The term "Christ" was not originally a name but a title derived from the Greek word christos, meaning "anointed." This word existed long before the life of Jesus. Importantly, Christ does not refer to a person but to a transformative force. One may become a Christ, but this was never intended to be a proper name. To be "anointed" describes a state of being-blessed with eternal life through alignment with divine law and righteousness. This state is not exclusive to Jesus. Throughout history, many great spiritual teachers before Jesus were considered Christs. This observation does not diminish Jesus' significance or the profound impact he had on the world. Becoming a Christ is exceedingly rare. The Christ represents an immensely powerful and holy possession-a divine consciousness operating through a human vessel to convey a higher message. Jesus embodied the Christ because he had prepared himself mentally, physically, and spiritually for this extraordinary calling. Historical accounts suggest that Jesus underwent rigorous training in the mystery schools of Egypt and studied with the Essenes. Such preparation is critical for this experience. The Christ consciousness cannot manifest in an unprepared mind; an unready vessel could suffer great harm. Similarly, as so-called "demonic" possessions often exploit highly vulnerable individuals, the Christ can only embody someone who has achieved the requisite self-awareness, reflection, and discipline. Thus, the Christ is the ultimate mediator between humanity and God. It is the medium through which one truly comes to know God. When Jesus spoke of the Father, he did so not as a man, but as a vessel for the Christ consciousness. This understanding provides context for his profound declaration: > "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This statement was not made by the man Jesus but by the Christ-the divine force operating through him. The Christ is the "way," the "truth," and the "life," the essential connection between humanity and the Father. Jesus' teachings emphasized that this transformative potential resides within all of us. He sought to inspire others to recognize that the "kingdom of God is within." Yet, realizing this truth is only the beginning. One must actively seek and cultivate it to embody the Christ: > "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." While not everyone may be ready for this experience, ALL have the potential. Striving toward this realization is transformative, and the pursuit itself will elevate and prepare you for divine connection.

Im struggling with this concept of god based on (it seems) a modern take on what is good or moral or acceptable to this 'god'. The aztecs would have considered their sacrificial deeds as 'moral' because it appeased the gods and made their crops grow. Prehistoric man did not have any concept of murder or abuse or evil...they would have killed and abused to survive....Our concept of evil is based on current sensibilities. Is murder in war acceptable to this god for the greater good. In the minds of the people commiting that murder is it morally justified and therefore not evil?

Chris, you mentioned that good actions by themselves are not enough even if they have positive impact, intentions matter. But on the flip side, actions done with good intentions may not always end in positive impact. "Good" actions are subjective to perspectives influenced by experience, faith, or even incomplete knowledge - the history of medicine for example. So if I, without faith, leave a legacy of positive impact, is it not enough? Or if I, on the basis of true godly faith, performs actions that unintentionally lead to negative impact, how will i be judged? There is no way to know with absolute certainty what impact one's life's actions will have. By this logic, the only way one can be saved is if they have faith, enough faith that their actions are guided by the all knowing spirit of God Curious to know what your thoughts are on this

“While both Jesus and James employed the vivid metaphor of the “tongue on fire” to illustrate the destructive power of words, the apostle Paul approached their imagery with a distinct nuance. Unlike a purely symbolic interpretation, Paul homed in on the emotional core of this metaphor, delving into the very “fire” they described. In Romans 2: 8, we find a prime example of this shift. Where Jesus and James focused on the external consequences of fiery speech, Paul directly connects the “indignation and wrath” to internal motivations. He pinpoints these powerful emotions on those who “are self-seeking and do not obey the truth,” implying a direct link between personal ambition and the internal combustion of anger and resentment. By associating “indignation and wrath” with pursuing self-interest and the rejection of truth, Paul highlights the devastating personal consequences of unchecked fire. These emotions, he argues, not only harm others but also consume the individuals who harbour them.” - Christianity : How did we get it so Wrong by Phil Alderman

@DD-fi9ghАй бұрын
You can use your intelligence to make friends if you choose to channel your cognitive horsepower in that way. Think of it like this: every human interaction-whether it’s one you engage in personally or one you simply observe-is just an equation. Each interaction has inputs and outputs; input = the actions or words of party A, output = reaction of party B. If you consciously observe all these interactions happening to you and around you, you can build a database of social interaction then identify patterns within that database. This is just an over intellectualized description of socialization, but for some folks of higher IQ, it’s easier to understand it in this way. You may not be understood by the new friends you make, but you may feel less lonely.

@@CTMURadio Do you know if he has he read A Course in Miracles? (it makes a lot of sense relative to Langan's model. Perhaps it could / might even add/complete some understandings in the model, refering to the functions of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the latter Whom corrects all errors and apart from the Father and Son, has no function. The Holy Spirit is the Answer to everything because the Holy Spirit knows what the answer to everything is. (The Father creates by extending Himself / He is part of what He Creates) And the Father is a Father by His Son (otherwise, without a son He is not a Father). And only what you think with/share with God is real. Everything else is illusion/not real. The Holy Spirit is the communication link between the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit was created at the same moment as the separation occured. And of course, the Father/God is perfect and denying ourself and separation we could not remain within the kingdom. The Holy Spirit is God's Answer. God being questioned, did not question. "Remember this: God gave the Holy Spirit to you, and gave Him the mission to remove all doubt and every trace of guilt that His dear Son has laid upon himself. It is impossible this mission fail. ...(then explains why)". And much more. This was just a brief youtube comment written on the fly (I started reading ACIM in 1990 and ever since. The lake of fire is where God permanently destroy the souls of those who are not kept. To carefully word it. There are some people who accept the world as it is and are neither atheists (in sense of ant-God) nor agnostic (in the sense of there is no God). They see things like they are - nature and its laws as created by Creation (German: die Schöpfung). By its natural laws you see how you must live and act according to nature. Flowers beget seeds and the wither, the seeds flower and beget seeds, this the pattern of natural laws for survivability as it is meant to be (this is an observation of nature, thus one of its laws. Conversely, the law is not to stop breeding and extinguish yourself as a species. This could be acting against the natural order of things. The earlier Gods - caveman looking at the harshness of nature, early death, asking himself, is this all there is to life - just harshness, then death? No other purpose - this can't be. There must be some higher forces with a higher purpose. And so have gods arisen. Today, with our deeper insights into nature, the time for these older gods has come. There is no place for them anymore. The same will happen to newer gods. But religion, as long as we are humans and have emotions, will always have a time and place in times of calamity, war and dire need. What we wiil turn into in the future, is still written in the stars. Perhaps we might eventually turn into spiritual beings, leaving our human bodies behind, and move to the stars or other dimensions not yet imagined. All of us won't make it. There are already evolutionary dead-ends amongst us with a lower level of survivability. Look at who is running the once first-world sector of South Africa down into the ground. First of all we have to grow spiritually equally in line with our technological capabilities. Otherwise we might blow ourselves out of existence and be replaced by micro-organisms. Mankind as the dead end of evolution. Very concerning, the current conflict in the Ukraine. When the children in the room start to play with nuclear triggers ...

I think that hell is being aware of others suffering. Nothingness would free you from being aware of others suffering.

In the video he says you go to hell by denying God. Later he says no person can be perfect in a physical body. He then says Jesus is an example of a perfect human, so to me that is saying Jesus is God and if you deny Jesus you deny God.
