I don't know how you can have a conversation without understanding the context of what is being discussed, he was trying to explain certain terms and words so the listener could understand the definition and follow. maybe that's why in the beginning Danny said he is still trying to process it. I feel Ammon was trying to be respectful but should have spoken up about what he was trying to explain. I kept wanting him to go deeper, it's like getting ready to have sex then someone's banging on your front door lol.
@throgwarhammer71627 ай бұрын
@@jeepguylv80, sometimes during conversations, especially ones like this in which an expert has a ton to say about something, you have to let said expert just talk for a minute and wait to ask the clarifying questions. That's how the good stuff gets out. In my opinion, Danny was far too quick to interrupt and ask about some detail or definition; plus, he often ran with that follow-on question instead of getting back to where the conversation left off, so you're right; we ended up with blue balls over the best nuggets of information then never reached the climax. Since watching this video, I've gone down a rabbit hole of interviews with Dr. Hillman. There are several out there that make a lot more sense because the interviewer allows him to actually finish a thought (and there's no ridiculous self censorship to ruin the experience). I'm surprised I made it through this video despite all the bleeping. It was tough to do, but Dr. Hillman was interesting enough for me to struggle through it.
@Genesisjruiz16 күн бұрын
This was an interesting discussion, but I don’t fully buy into Dr. Ammons’ claim of being unbiased or without an agenda. He’s clearly coming from a background of religious trauma and/or spiritual abuse, and while he may try to downplay it, it’s still evident in his demeanor. While I can appreciate his sense of humor and personality, there’s something off about him. Someone in a comment said, “Not religious or anything, but that dude does give off possession vibes,” and it made me giggle because I do think a lot of us can sense it. Also, regarding Peter, he wasn’t a child-he was married, as referenced in the same book where he mentions the linen bandages (Mark), which also talks about Peter’s mother-in-law. Marriage was a rite of passage into adulthood. It was common for men to get married before beginning their careers, and the Gospel of Mark also mentions Peter being a fisherman. He is being inconsistent/intellectually dishonest about “just reading what the text says”. His insinuations about Jesus are definitely questionable.

He started of by saying " Hail S#!++" that tells you who's side he's on. It's heresy! The best lie is 90 truth + 10% lie where you least expect it. Just like rat poison. Mostly food with just enough poison to keep them eating until they die.
@marilynbatten536515 күн бұрын
Yes. His comments about the "burning purple" are taken directly from a fraudulent book about Mary's early life supposedly written by James. It's a well-known fictitious account, & no "scholar" would use it as "proof" of anything. Tyrian purple was a dye not a drug. It was not hallucinogenic & its use in religious ceremonies was confined to fabric. The shells of the snails were sometimes used for medical purposes, but it was not purple or caustic. Also, there was nothing odd about the boy in linen. Linen was a common fabric used for clothing--not just bandages. He ran away naked when the soldiers came, which suggests something else. And no, the disciples were not children. In fact, children were drawn to Jesus, & the disciples tried to keep them away, as his time was considered too valuable to spend on children. Jesus rebuked them, suggesting that his teaching could also be grasped by the young. This guy is strung-out, has-been, nut case, doing his best to deceive the gullible.

I think these two are a perfect match there's good camaraderie here I don't see the degree of stupidity that some people think the interviewer has he has him on his show for crying out loud? His perspective seems profoundly shaped by a history of negative encounters with Christianity, experiences that have likely fostered a deep and unwavering anti-Christian stance. These formative events appear to stem from the faith’s rigid doctrines, authoritarian figures, and the psychological burdens of guilt, shame, and emotional harm it imposed upon him. For instance, if his personal identity-whether sexual or otherwise-does not align with traditional Christian views, such as the expectation of heterosexual marriage, it could have fueled feelings of alienation or conflict with the faith. These experiences, whatever their nature, seem to have distorted his understanding of religion, nurturing a profound skepticism and, quite possibly, an active hostility toward the very beliefs and institutions that once informed his worldview. In rejecting Christianity, he may be seeking liberation from what he perceives as an oppressive, manipulative system that has long constrained his autonomy and sense of self. His response to the question of where he would travel if given the chance to go back in time-choosing the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus was arrested-underscores this. It is not a moment of reverence, but a symbolic act of defiance, an attempt to confront and dismantle the foundational elements of a faith he believes has caused him harm. Moreover, his academic focus on Greek classicism likely provides him with the intellectual tools and critical distance necessary to challenge the religious narratives that once held sway over him. The intellectual rigor and analytical discipline he gained from this field have likely reinforced his resolve, allowing him to critique and deconstruct the religious ideologies he now regards not merely as outdated, but as harmful to his personal autonomy and sense of self.

Wow. I thought I was looking for things to disprove Ammon and his claim that the Greek Bible came first, instead I am finding things that would plug right into his story. I was reading about the Septuagint, and it said "The full Greek title derives from the story recorded in the Letter of Aristeas to Philocrates that "the laws of the Jews" were translated into the Greek language at the request of Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285-247 BCE) by seventy-two Hebrew translators-six from each of the Twelve Tribes of Israel." So I think to myself wow there's a letter that backs up the fact that translators were sent to translate the original Hebrew Bible so more people could read it, disproving Ammon's claim. Then I click on the link to read more about this letter itself. "The letter describes the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible by seventy-two interpreters sent into Egypt from Jerusalem at the request of the librarian of Alexandria, resulting in the Septuagint translation. Some scholars have since argued that it is fictitious." "The inconsistencies and anachronisms of the author, exposed by many 17th-century scholars were collected and presented by Humphrey Hody (1659-1706), Hody placed the writing closer to 170-130 BC. Modern scholarship is unanimously with Hody." "In 2001, Bruce Metzger writes: Most scholars who have analyzed the letter have concluded that the author cannot have been the man he represented himself to be but was a Jew who wrote a fictitious account in order to enhance the importance of the Hebrew Scriptures by suggesting that a pagan king had recognized their significance and therefore arranged for their translation into Greek." 🤯🤯

As someone who studied both modern and ancient Greek I can corroborate the guy's claims here such as origins for words Herpes and Christos, etc. etc. Although I have to note that I neither read Galen's 14th volume nor Hillman's book, so I definitely cannot say I can corroborate his translations or what he claims in his book. However, I don't expect the book to be particularly controversial. Our societies obsess over recreational drug use at a time when people still routinely die of hunger, and when even Classical World's diseases like scurvy have resurfaced in the Developed World (largely due to our failing economies and low income individuals relying on empty calorie foods and canned Food Bank food leftovers picked clean of anything nutritious by their staff earlier). Not everything in history is about drugs but almost everything in history relates to drugs directly or indirectly, and it's insanity to try to excise drug use from the study of history.

If anyone is interested in learning more about the PGM (Greek Magical Papyri) or the Mithras Liturgy he mentioned, or ancient Greek magic, I made a video all about that. In the video I read through several whole spells/rituals from the PGM and break them down for people who aren't familiar with ancient magical practices. I then compare them to spells/rituals from popular modern books on witchcraft. It's called "Witchcraft: Ancient vs Modern" I can confirm that the ancient Greeks/Romans/Egyptians did lots of drugs that were often very complex mixtures of plants and animal parts and that they used these to induce visionary states and what we would call mystical experiences. You can get a copy of the PGM and see for yourself.

In order for Jesus to have "used children as drugs", he would have had to _exist._ But there isn't even enough evidence to conclude existence. There is even less evidence for him ever actually doing anything, or even saying anything. Imaginary people don't commit crimes, except in imagination. Which is not to say early Christians thought he was imaginary. But they imagined him having been in The Firmament, the lowest heaven where the demons and Satan lived, until his execution, and buried there, and issued a new, incorruptible body in 3rd heaven. One _just like_ those already stockpiled to be issued to saved Christians come the end times, and lacking, Paul wanted to _make sure_ we knew, genitalia.

As a Greek watching this podcast I assure you that some of us have come to the realization that the Greek language should be the lingua franca of humanity simply because "the coinage of language" ,Mr.. Hillman mentions, is essentially the democratization of language and language cannot be usurped by ideologues who use it for propaganda purposes. Any idea how many Greek words were used to form this comment?
@JacksonBock-z3t3 күн бұрын
This isnt exactly the full circle of your sentiment however. Many nations take over other nations in history and they take everything from them at times, and when a foreign power enforces this successfully, they have often banned the use.of said language and.in many places, losing their language to them is a great way to break a people and affect its traditional values negatively, giving their oppression a foot of power. Language is a powerful thing--and another heavily human quality and system. When the Soviet Union became huge, it became huge By going to many of the former Soviet countries, installing military and calling all the shots, killing the nonconformists, the USSR was very wise in knowing that destroying a language will have a deep , discouraging , and long lasting effect on those they wish to control more. Bad things are.coming.

Nonsense. A demon babbles gibberish and you marvel. No where in the original Greek do the assumptions and projections Hillman makes come into play. The King James translation was translated by over 40 highly trained people. Some of which spoke Greek and Hebrew from childhood. Explain this then if it's all a fairy tale: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1 ~First Verse of the Bible - 44 letters, 17 vowels/27 consonants~ First + Last word = 7 letters The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 ~Last Verse of the Bible - 44 letters, 17 vowels/27 consonants~ First + Last word = 7 letters In the beginning God [17 letters] created the heaven and the earth. [27 letters] The grace of our Lord [17 letters] Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. [27 letters] In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. Genesis 7:11 ~First mention of 17 in the Bible, Flood begins~ And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. Genesis 8:14 ~First mention of 27 in the Bible, Flood ends~ "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Luke 17:27

Bro I’ve been thinking about this podcast for the last 3 days. Would love to see someone debate Mr.Hillman. The last 3 videos I’ve seen of people trying to debunk just felt like they kept saying “this isn’t what the consensus believes.” I’m sorry, but if thats your argument you need to step aside. Someone who also knows this Ancient Greek language needs to translate it and confirm or deny what he Hillman said. Than a 3rd person. What this guy is saying is ground breaking and should be analyzed and debated.
@mikehunt83755 ай бұрын
That would be actual science though, SCIENCE hasn't been science in over 100 years. It's a religion, if you discover proof that some old saggy PhD might be wrong you better keep it to yourself or you'll be called a psuedoscientist, lose your job, and be shunned from society. Its been that way since 1910, why do you think science hasn't gotten anywhere since those initial THEORIES started coming out, with book deals, famous "geniuses" like Albert Einstein, clearly shoved down all our throats, once you take a step back and start critically thinking again it's obvious we've all been severally brainwashed since birth, it's been one psyop after another, sadly most will never even figure it out...

Hillman CANNOT for the life of him pronounce and therefore comprehend Ancient Greek vowels properly and all the building capacity he has ends there with that heavily musical and mathematical language. He has made too many mistakes from 2hours 10' on - I am honestly shocked. I think everything I agreed with him up until that point got hijacked by the multitude of transliterations and THAT is exactly what happens when Anglos enter the game. Apparently his teacher(s) are not native or heavily fluent in Ancient Greek while being native or able to speak it properly. That is paramount. This is not my field at the moment but it is what I studied and spoke, in Greece where I was born and grew up in... my ears and eyes are falling off.
