Hello good day how are you. I see that below you commented that this video is a dvd rip, could you comment how you have done it? Since it looks great. I have several dvd's that I would like to convert to video file, I used to export the .VOB files contained in the dvd to adobe premiere and then export said Vob files as a single video file either in Avi or mp4, but it is not with the image quality of this video you have uploaded. Could you comment on how you have copied this DVD? You would really help me a lot. From already thank you very much.

Hi, can you put the dvd in an iso file and possibly upload it somewhere so that I can watch it myself? It strongly depends on the content in which way you have to treat it in order to obtain the best quality in deinterlacing (if necessary) and upscaling and other operations. One thing is certain, all NLEs, including Adobe Premiere, are very bad at deinterlacing and upscaling. Especially when it comes to SD video files. Davinci Resolve is better because they now use the neural engine since version 17, but it could be much better. I must warn you, it is not an easy process and you will have to make an effort to learn things.

@@videotaperetro1126 Thanks, all the DVDs that I have, they do not look interlaced when I play them on the PC, they only look interlaced when I play them on a DVD player and connect it to the capture card. Adobe Premiere can open DVDs but when you open them they are already in progressive format. In some videos that I have captured, I do the deinterlacing process with qtgmc, in an avisynth script in virtualdub, but in the case of DVDs I thought that this last process was not necessary

@@jon8117 Deinterlacing is always necessary for SD sources, no matter what the carrier is. If there is a movie on the DVD, it may not be necessary. In the case of PAL DVD it remains 25p. In case of NTSC movie on DVD you have to do a pulldown. As I said, Adobe Premiere does a deinterlace because the interlaced flag is up in the VOB files. (Can't you mark the video as progressive? Premiere won't do deinterlacing. In Davinci Resolve you can). On your PC, the video player does deinterlacing in real time. You can turn that off in the player. This is certainly possible in MPC-HC, VLC and Potplayer. Capturing via a DVD player is not smart because then you do Digital -> Analog -> Digital. Then you have a lot of quality loss. You need to rip the DVD with MakeMKV www.makemkv.com it's freeware. Then you have a .MKV file that is one file per chapter without loss of quality in the mpeg2 format. So without recoding. That's what I do.

@@videotaperetro1126 Understand. In my case, the dvd player I have has an HDMI output, so I don't need to use the analog outputs to capture the signal. Regarding the video properties, the videos I capture are uncompressed, so they are 250gb files for 2 hours of video. Then when I do the deinterlacing process, I also do the video compression process so that it takes up less disk space. In the video properties that you show, it details that the video is recorded in a 4: 2: 0 color format at 8 bits. And my captures are made uncompressed at 10 bits RGB, would there be a difference in that case? I'm going to test the MakeMKV program, I hope with this program I can create an uncompressed dvd copy with the same image quality as the uploaded video. Thank you.
