It's fair to note that Purdy has not been the one saying "I'm the greatest! I'm the next Tom Brady!" He has been humble throughout. I'm sure he is not surprised his team lost a game. All this drama is so silly.

As a 49er fan, this excites me so much. We ALL knew this game is was BOUND to happen. Now we get to witness in REAL time what happens when brock Purdy falls down. A man’s true glory is not found in the event if he doesn’t fall, it’s found in the times he rises when he does.

Against the best defense in the nfl, on the last drive of the game, without Debo or CMC, he drove the 49ers down and gave his kicker a chance to win the game. If that’s not elite, y’all don’t know what elite is. How many times did Mahomes do that, and we laud him for it? What, so he has to have Harrison Butker to be elite now? Y’all keep moving the goal posts… That was an elite performance when it counted, yesterday.

I like Chris Long's analysis...to overreact is not a wise thing. NFL has a long season. Brock and the 49ers will be fine

Hurts threw 4 picks but lets rip Brock. 49ers had over 100 yards of penalties, two missed field goals. 49ers will be fine. They will bounce back. Should have kept Robbie.

Some of these “elite” QBs lay a turd left and right but get the benefit of the doubt. The kid has one tough game after everything fell apart around the Niners (and he still got them into a position to win), and people are crucifying him. This coming from a Bucs fan who has no skin in this game.

If that’s purdys worst game the league has issues, purdy won his first 10 start drove his team down and the kicker missed a field goal you can’t ask much more from your quarterback you should be doing a hit peice on the kicker not the quarterback

Taking the team down the field when it mattered….Brock will be just fine.

How many times were the 49ers at 3rd and 20+ because of false starts and holding penalties?

The Niners had a similar game early last year against Atlanta. Also, when they won the Super Bowl in 94 they had a stacked team and got torched by an inferior Eagles team. Sometimes good teams need a punch in the face to wake them up and remind them the NFL season is not cruise control.

If that’s his worst game then he’s more than legit because in the end he gave his team a chance to win with a walkoff field goal.

Respect to the Browns defense for making it such a tough game for the 49ers. It was by far the toughest game for Purdy and the 49ers since the Championship game with the Eagles. On the positive side Purdy didn't suffer a season ending injury. Yesterday was a combination of a tough opponent on the road, not great weather, key weapons going down in game which caused some sputtering, and a couple huge drop passes which led to far too many 3 and outs. Sloppy in terms of penalties/ lack of discipline. All the things that led to them cruising to a 5-0 start weren't there for the 49ers yesterday. Bad game and they still pieced together what should have been a game winning FG drive to steal the win. Need Shanahan to try to get a little closer there at the end, not a fan of the last couple downs prior to the missed kick.

Remember, Purdy being a rookie last year has played only 6 reg season games and 2 1/4 playoff in 2022 and this year just finished his 6th game. He still has not started a full season worth of games. At end of last season he had major arm surgery, amazingly quick comeback, no off season training-throwing with his receivers and minimal recovery throwing during spring training. Lost only his 1st game where a lot went wrong for 49nrs with Cleveland coming off by week looking stronger and more prepared. Purdy being analyzed as if he is a 4+ year vet that did not have major off season surgery says a lot about his play.

SF didn't play well but that call near the end was absolutely scandalous.

Keep it in context. Credit to the Browns for playing great on defense. No Greenlaw, injuries to Deebo and CMC and a few questionable calls. Ayuik dropped passed too and no scheme for Kittle. He got us in position to win the game with a 40 yd field goal that most kickers make in that moment. We should have won with their backup QB of course but its all got to be in context

Brock proved that he could get the team in a winning position after having a horrible day. Kicker needs to go, that was a playoff scenario game period.

Should also be mentioned that he DID end up getting them into position to win the game with no Deebo or CMC even after his poor play.

Respect to Chris for keeping things in perspective. Bad games, bad performances, and tough losses happen. If anything, we need to be hyping up the Browns' D even more. The refs made bad calls on both sides, but at the end of the day, the Niners just couldn't make it happen. Cleveland WON that game just as much as the Niners lost it. It's cool. Only two teams in NFL history have gone undefeated in the regular season, remember. So it's all good.
