This entire concert was one of the most beautiful moments in music history. Tragedy brings people together, and this was another example of that. I remember watching this on the BBC at the time, like millions of others. Even now, an anthem like Don’t Look Back in Anger is so powerful, and that’s why it was chosen 🐝❤️

Yes it's clear the lyrics were projected on the big screen. And yes they may well have discussed when the sing-along would happen. They point is, Buckland was enough of a pro to look over at Martin at the right time. And Martin was keen enough to give him the gesture, just to be sure.

You said that you'd never been But all the things that you've seen They slowly fade away [Pre-Chorus] So I start a revolution from my bed Cause you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out [Chorus] And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say [Verse 2] Take me to the place where you go Where nobody knows if it's night or day Please don't put your life in the hands Of a rock'n'roll band Who'll throw it all away [Pre-Chorus] I'm gonna start a revolution from my bed Cause you said the brains I had went to my head Step outside, the summertime's in bloom Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face Cause you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out [Chorus] And so, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as she's walking on by My soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say [Chorus] So, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as we're walking on by Her soul slides away But don't look back in anger I heard you say So, Sally can wait She knows it's too late as she's walking on by My soul slides away But don't look back in anger Don't look back in anger I heard you say [Outro] At least not today

The thing I love most about the concept of this concert was that it's such a Mancunian way of honoring a tradgedy - 'you've tried to disrupte our way of life, so we're gonna have a party' - it's more powerful than any number of minute silences, national anthems or speeches could have ever been in my opinion!

"Nero fiddled while Rome burned". I don't find it powerful at all. Quite frankly, it's a pathetic and sad indictment of a once proud people who have descended into decadence and nihilism, and are terrified to assert themselves even in the face of existential danger. What about the next time they 'distrupt' our way of life, will we have another party then too? Or how about the time after that, or the time after that? How many parties do you need to have before you wake up and realise we are at war and actually need to do something about it?

Furqon Muhammad Can Noel even sing it in the original key nowadays? I’ve been wondering for awhile now since the post-Oasis gigs always have the song in a different key creating a more melancholy version, which isn’t bad per se.

I agree. Ariana didn't do anything except standing there and her name's in the title. Jonny played those beautiful guitar riffs and yet he's not mentioned in the title. wtf
@Seansation1017 жыл бұрын
Eugene J Ariana was in the title because it was her night. The people died at her show so this was her way of handling it. She did great all throughout the show so if she didn't necessarily put all her energy into this one song then I forgive her. Johnny played the solo the exact way as the original recording, nothing impressive about that. If anything I think the Manchester crowd made this performance amazing. Nothing beats singing Oasis with just about the entirety of Manchester singing along.
@thewaft75897 жыл бұрын
Well, probably because he didnt write the solo...

But why she was crying?
@JeffStreamsThings6 жыл бұрын
Because it's a bittersweet moment - she's at a wonderful show and watching some of her favorite singers, but at the same time she's thinking about the reason for the show, and the people who were horribly hurt or killed just a few weeks before. That's why the image is a perfect symbol for the concert as a whole. It's joy and beauty and sadness and loss all at once - just like the One Love Manchester event itself.
