The arrest and charges against Hughes have left other international social media influencers upset, with some openly expressing their anger with the authorities in T&T. Hughes, 45, had been detained by police on May 28 at Flag Staff, Long Circular, hours before he was scheduled to leave the country. The KZbin sensation arrived in T&T three weeks ago and began visiting communities where he allegedly met with reputed gang leaders, members and affiliates who openly displayed their cache of illegal arms and ammunition and also spoke of their operations and transactions.

I was born and raised in Trinidad and all I can say is that when I travel outside on occasion and people who don't know me ask where I'm from I would say the Caribbean and leave it at that, 30 years ago I would have kept my head high and say Trinidad and Tobago . I love my country but the situation stinks. I hope that I wouldn't be around in the next 10 years to see the type of people we have. The youths of today have no sort of respect for even themselves, instead of picking up a gun and killing each other and blaming the government for it, come together and find a solution. I takes a village to raise a child, does anyone know what that means anymore? Simple truth is children learn by example, so if they are not being corrected and checked on at home,then peer pressure will take over because of a simple thing as lack of attention. I'm not saying to beat your child, trust me I might have gotten enough to share with them,but don't spare the rod and spoil the child, there's a lot of different meaning to that, it's all about interpretation.

Kish I to love Chris content and a subscriber as well but for a person born and raised in the Caribbean , most of us know about the uncontrolled gang violence in Trinidad. We don’t need them to get promo. We need them off the streets. They’re on there throwing out threats, admitting to criminal activities, holding illegal guns, and having kids in the same videos following him down the block which I’m sure didn’t get parental approval. Content creators who take risk know there might be consequences to pay at times. You play in mud, you’re going to get dirty. First of all, he went looking for the gangs to interview. No one invited him to bring light on the gangs. The people of Trinidad and Tobago are already aware of the gangs in their country. He was not bringing light to anything but followers to His page and more money to His pockets. You all need to respect other countries' laws. If you are coming into the country as a visitor/tourist, act accordingly and don't venture out in "bad areas" and pretend to be a journalist. He was warned many times by the locals, but he refused to take heed. I can only wish him a safe exit out of Trinidad and Tobago, but let this be a learning experience to other content creators. Learn the law of the land of the country you plan to visit. I know when I visit Trinidad and Tobago, on that form you fill out at customs, ask what is the reason for your visit? People are it for granted that they can make video Any and everywhere they want even if they are not able to do this in their countries. Your countries' rules or laws do not apply to every country you visit, so educate yourself. One of the young men who was interviewed was even banned from performing, and a few caribbean countries some might see this as providing a platform. Content creators never learn this fact about poverty tourism... The fact is that natives don't like the negative side of their country being shown. There's so much good that a country has to offer, but they choose to go to the worst side of the country, then justifying it by saying something like "just connecting with people or showing real life". I others have warned him in his channel about poverty tourism. Now someone who can call shots watched the negative videos about their country, and decided to take action. Now he's in trouble. He knows exactly why he's in trouble. Chris says that he shows "the good, the bad and the ugly". He's been ignoring warnings about negative content. Let this be a lesson learned, going forward, stick to the good side of the country.
