There was an episode when Otis, after getting drunk would pour his booze in the water cooler before locking himself in a cell. Barney, drinking from the water cooler, got drunk. Funnier than blazes. True testament to Don Knotts' comedic talent.

FUN FACT: ............ Earle Hagen and Herbert Spencer wrote the music, however, it was Jubal Foster, (actor Everett Sloane), who wrote the lyrics to 'The Fishin' Hole' which is the theme song in the opening title for the Andy Griffith Show.

This was 100% dead-on accurate: when moonshine has fully set up, it has no odor and is easily mistaken for water; before that, it has some STRONG fumes... (you might take a sip, but- why would you want to?... you would wait until it had fully set up). This is not called "sipping" whiskey for nothing: if you took a big gulp (as Barney did) you would, in all likelihood, end up flat on your face !!

I knew two guys who were brothers. The oldest was Gabriel, called Gabe. The youngest brother was named Jubal Lee. He went by Jube or Jubal. Their dad was somewhat religious so he gave his sons religious sounding names. Jubal Lee...very close to Jubilee. Mike Pardue

There is one episode in particular that I can't seem to find where Barney is looking to catch a male and female criminal in a camping trailer park. The man gets out of the camper and goes to the car to start it, Barney is caught hiding in the front of the car and tries to stop it from moving by putting his shoulder to the care and planting his feet in the ground. After the man goes back into the camper, Barney hops in the car and takes off speeding down the road weaving side to side with the pair inside being thrown all around. This one of Barney's funniest apprehensions ever IMHO
