@@renogunzddragon1900 No, I'm not a fan. I gave up on Hollywood crap years ago. My friend had PlutoTV and they were doing a Star Trek marathon, that's how I saw Beyond. It was the least stupid of the films, but it, again, made no sense. Why the villain needed the "super weapon" made no sense, he already had a drone army that could have destroyed the space station. There was no way for them to know the super weapon was on the Enterprise of that they had it, The villain had no real motivation. The motorbike was moronic. It's just so stupid now. We laughed over it pointing out all the inconsistencies in it, that's the only fun we had in the film.

I recently read an article which said that Abrahams made an excellent space adventure movie and the ships and crew were awesomely done it just wasn't an actual Star Trek theme. It lacked the basic attitudes and agendas of Trek due to its purely action premise with the only thought to canon being well cast actors taking up their Trek personas. Don't get me wrong I did love the 3 movies but unlike the reimagined BSG the new angle didn't improve on or clean up the original, it was simply spectacular eye candy.

Look, this sci fi series has endured 60 years because Gene Roddenberry created it with a vision of our future that would finally do away with slums poverty and disease. He made it so we can learn to work together and put our differences in the past, he also set it up to where we have a more involved and close interaction with problem solving as we warp through space adventures dealing with getting along with different species and phenomena and anomalies yet to be discovered. To explore this universe and find ways of doing things better including interpersonal situations. His vision we cannot leave to someone that doesn’t see it only a way to make money today. Thanks to Gene we now have the internet, portable phones, unmanned ships exploring our solar system and this is only the beginning but we have to work hard to make it a reality. R.I.P. Gene an$ thank you for this dream.

I don't think Star Trek should have a last chapter. I just finished watching the 3 with the new team and am awed by how wonderful the films are. Of course they are the mainstream films. But what are the mainstream films. Those that are liked by the younger generation?? I have been a fan of Star Trek from the beginning and more than a star wars fan. I find star trek more hopeful, because it feels more human or real. Its like i believe we will be in that life in the next 200 year, but i can't relate to star wars in the same fashion. I could see such potential in the new star trek movies, and eventually see a new series of star trek with these member portraying their roles as in the movie. I am hopeful, because Gene Roddenbury was a visionary when he created star trek in the 60's. bringing cultures and fashions all together and showing the world that it worked. This is what is missed in todays shows and movies. The old style seems to work much better than the new style!

No thank you! Personally, I believe this franchise is done under the BadRobot reboot banner and quite frankly not interested in seeing any more of this version! JJ Abrams and Alex Kirkman BOTCHED the canonization of Star Trek on T.V. too. It is a mess!!! It just looks like JJ Abrams is finding a way to keep the licenses for Star Trek now that Alex Kurtzman has completely obliterated TV Star Trek as well they come from the same Mindset of giving you more to question than that is too give a cohesive story that will fulfill the audience curiosity and storytelling to fruition. These guys have iron clad contracts and will milk I.P. to its last time in breath “VIA” Kathleen Kennedy style. To me that is hack storytelling, not to mention all the woke stuff splurged in there for the sake of doing so that has no real relevance and importance in the story telling itself. Gene Roddenberry’s vision of Star Trek was always inclusive, and it was woven perfectly into the format of Star Trek equally with everything else! Now all we watch is agenda and messaging in every chapter thanks folks, but no thanks! I would prefer to see a new cast rebooting the franchise entirely under a different company that respects the Lord of Star Trek and can canonize the principal and main timeline into the movies and explore other versions of Star Trek within the same universe that interconnect with the movies. To me that will engage the audience a bit more because it will be a more linear, interconnected story through other explorations of Star Trek in the same universe. It makes more sense to me to bring it all together, explore more of the Star Trek Canon through the TV shows and leave the main timeline in the theaters of course as it already was just done better!

Abrams just seems to be pretty clueless and squandered his chance to go back to the beginning and tell an origin story that we haven't seen before: When Kirk meets Spock, when Kirk meets McCoy, when they all meet Scotty. They should start an adventure with the father and then have Kirk finish it in his time or deal with the consequences of it with Shatner (minus the toupee) as his grandfather, Tiberius Kirk.
