It sounds like they might have gotten together during the time dilation event, so I'm actually reading this as a catalyst for Shayne realizing he was jealous in this moment. His expression looks a little forced, and it almost looks like the editor cut around him a bit. I know it's happened this way for me with a couple girls I've had crushes on in a work environment. A coworker who you have chemistry with suddenly becomes attractive after you see them in a romantic situation, like you've seen them in a new light (and like it). Christ Pratt is also married conservative, and he married his second wife the same year this came out.
