Glad you loved this track! It was actually the first tune that Corey sang to Clown and Joey that gave him the greenlight to be lead singer back in the day. If you haven't yet, please check out "Only One", also from the first album. It's short, but if ya want to you can check out the original demo version from the Crowz album too, it's very different but just as good! 🔥

Its about someone struggling to understand why he keeps attracting so much negative attention. So he goes on and solipsizes himself, cutting off all emotional transactions with the outside world- which are bad for the most part as can be figured from the soaring "I wasn't promised a thing/You keep mocking me" A pessimistic song that says it can sometimes work well for some people to hide behind The Wall

If you want earlier works, it's really interesting to hear! So worthwhile! I agree with everyone else in that you need to listen to Scissors and Eeyore! Most of the older songs are shorter because back in the day they used to just go real hard and it added to the shock value too. You could say there was less 'fluff' in the older stuff and it was harder-hitting.

Even though this sounds so lame, the self titled is still the best album from Slipknot. Unique songs and a definite nu-metal sound. Brilliant stuff over all which defines what Slipknot is, at least to me. Opinions, opinions... :- )

Nothing lame about it, the eponymous album is by far their best, it was energetic, experimental, cathartic and most of all it just fucking slammed. Saw them live just before Iowa came out (Which was a great follow-up album). With Vol 3, their sound changed enough for me to start considering them a pop-metal band, losing the essence of what made them special, in my eyes.. Or uh, ears, I guess. Now they pump out generic guff that I can't listen to but man those two albums were the soundtrack to a big part of my life.
