An interesting comparison I had a couple of Microtech knives but not a socom once I wanted one but never bought once and after some time I sold all of my Microtech knives. Thanks for watching.

Chris Reeves knives are incredibly overpriced and overrated. They got horrible action and looks very plain. I would much rather have 3 Spydercos. I really dont understand the hype.

That's a really long winded way to say "I don't understand what tolerances are" In a few months, a Spydiechef will likely cost the same as a Sebenza. There are plenty of reasons people may prefer chef over a Sebenza, but there's no reason they should be even close to the same price, and anyone that thinks it belongs in the se conversation with CRK in terms of manufacturing quality either doesn't understand the precision involved in the tolerances CRK achieves, or has never handled one. Edit: I use the Sebenza as an example because of the video. The Inkosi is the far better choice, but everything I said still stands.

that's such a nonsense comment in so many ways. first: i had many spydercos with bad action, especially the japanese ones, but also the expensive models from taichung (they still have detent issues to this day). chris reeve makes a very consistent and smooth action, you hardly can feel any friction when you open the knife, they are just not ment for fidgety flicking but for slow rolling.

I would say that the hype is there because of the heritage Chris Reeve invented the integral frame lock and made out to make the best possible knife he could after that he released a few models and did try to improve on the design they might see plain and you are right and that is because they were design to me neutral working tools to fit everybody after he retired his son took over the company and I was hoping that new desings will be released but not really maybe one or two. My best guess is that because that is a small family-owned company and is high in demand they don't have the capacity to produce new knives every month like some Chinese companies If you look at Spyderco they have a similar problem little to nothing new only color variations and new blade steels and that is really a shame because I like Spyderco. At the and everything is a question of taste the beauty lies in the eye of the beholder plus if you had a bad experience with CRK or did see or hear from somebody who knows maybe they got scammed and had a clone because I have seen and read only good things on the customer service in the past but maybe somebody just got a bad example.

@@nerv5th I get the name and reputation and how much it costs to make American knives but I believe any knife over $300 just has alot of greed in the price. Doubling your money is normal but getting 10x the cost of the knife is ridiculous. I dont know how much they cost to make but based off of other USA made knives hes got less then $100 in each knife. I do agree with you about Spyderco and there lack of innovation but there the only company trying so many different steels which has to count for something.

@@Knifeaddictdillon Yes the Greed factor could be an issue but let's face it we don't know how much it cost to produce a knife in their shop also we don't know how many pieces they sell and how much they have to sell to pay the bills and wages for the employees, on the other hand, let us compare his knife to a flagship iPhone how much they have on one phone or earbuds or laptops. If there was not an added value to CRK people would be stopped buying them a long time ago but I have a better comparison how about the Spartan Blades or Medford or even hindered. I say we as customers set the price because at the end of the day, we pay the price just look what happened with the Chinese brands how it is possible that WE can charge 500-600$ for a knife and they sell out instantly?
