Took a few months to really get a grasp of this knife but glad I stuck with it!

I absolutely agree about being thankful every day! Some of the things I think about every single day are: the fact that I have basically unlimited clean hot or cold water whenever I want, that I have all my limbs, fingers, toes, sight in both eyes, hearing in both ears. I feel it's important to remember how amazing it is that our bodies can turn food into energy to keep us breathing & our hearts pumping. It's really a miracle. I'm not religious or anything, but I really do feel that way. I found this video because I've never owned a CRK & I've considered getting one several times. Still not sure whether I'll actually grab one, but your video helped me to better understand the Umnumzaan. Thanks for the video my man! :o)

Great way to start the video. So often we are hunting for material objects,knives, to fill a void. Gratitude for what we have fills it more permanently. Well said sir. 🤜🤛

Add a Ripps Garage Tech Pocket clip to the knife. Also after having used and carried mine for around six months as a daily carry, it really smoothed out both opening and closing. I put a laid back edge on mine and it is among my favorite daily carries.

@@these7seas I haven’t noticed much of a difference yet. I haven’t had a chance to sharpen it . But it definitely seems the same as before with edge retention . I work for the railroad so I beat the crap out of it . No chipping no rolling . I think its gonna be hard to decipher concrete differences

I have this exact blade style in S35vn and loved the Zaan so much I ordered a tanto version from CRK direct and its coming in S45vn. This knife is AWESOME!

@@GettinGreasy88 yes and no. Received a call that my knife was next in line to be built. It had been too long for me so I cancelled the order. I could have bought it many times over versus custom ordering from CRK, but I didnt know thst at the time. Still adore my zaan but not sure I will buy another CRK piece in the future.

Wedge your thumbnail against the thumb stud ,instead of the soft meaty part of your thumb.when opening the knife. I just bought the large sebenza 31 bog oak. Sore thumb for a day or two, until I used the nail method,try it!

All I can say is if you don’t jive with it immediately, give it time. Trust me, it’s become a permanent keeper after I carried and used it for a few weeks!

I just got my first Zaan and st first was concerned with how ridiculous the detent is, I honestly thought something was wrong it's so strong. Glad to know I'm not the only one who had to "white knuckle" it to get it open lol, and even then it still doesn't want to. I have other CRKs so I'm used to how stiff they are at first but still holy shit! Until it's broken in more I've been opening it with my index finger and thumb together with both studs so I don't cut myself. That or two-handed like a buck knife 🤣
@these7seas2 жыл бұрын
Totally hear you! Mines broken in pretty well. I can now open it normal!

I saw a trick by a guy on yt. Can't remember who it was. He strongly suggested you use the side of your thumb to push the lockbar to the side. I can send you a video of how to do it if you need it so let me know, but I find it is MUCH more comfortable than using the tip of your thumb. I use the bottom side of my thumb btw

S35VN steel with the full titanium framelock..... what could be better? I have my Pro-Tech TR-3 Manual, same materials ... If you buy something like that, you will never need anything else. U get a knife for life. This is also a great choice. This is a holy grail of folding knives. For 500USD ... this is the last money you will spend for a knife in your entire life.

Just take the pocket clip off and bend the bottom tab down a little bit and then it won’t make a hotspot anymore

Was 2 seconds away from exiting this video before that annoying music stopped lol. No judgement, just annoying to me. Love these blades though! I bought mine fully broken in so cant relate to the stiffness noted but I will say its not the easiest blade to deploy, I ended up taking the o-ring off the thumb stud and it does help with grip to open it.

That’s a great suggestion! Gotta try it without the o rings!
