Chris Rivas World's Fastest Bagger Bonneville Stories

Chris Rivas tells his story beginning in the 80's drag racing with his father with a rear engine dragster. He then progressed into motorcycle drag racing and then the quest to become the world's fast bagger inland speed racing. Along the way Chris's daughter Cayla starts land speed racing at the age of 12 and getting records on her first 2 outing to Bonneville Salt flats and in 2014 she sets a new world record for a Buell Blast 500cc.

In 2012 I was running at BUB and my down and return runs were right behind Cayla. Great young lady and her folks are first class. I remember telling her when we were both in impound after our record runs that when she went back to school in a few weeks and asked her friends what they did during the summer, she then would get to tell them she went to Bonneville and set a land speed record. From the look on her face that was when it really hit her what she had just accomplished. Best of luck this year to Chris, Cayla and the entire Rivas team!

I'm so glad this living legend is documented. I've had the honor of Chris Rivas V-Twin build a motor for my bagger and can attest to his genius and skills. Chris is a great guy and so down to earth. Cayla will crush it, she's a chip off the old block! Best wishes in the racing future.

A little late but, I see the extensive use of heat wrap instead of heat shields on Chris's exhaust pipes. Can anyone explain that choice? Apparently it's worth the effort.
