This song would have been perfect to play at her funeral. She always told me and my dad that she was ready to meet god and be back with my grandpa. I miss her more and more each day. Thanks for writing\singing this song it brings back all the good memories I had with her.

Chris, this was absolutely beautiful. As a Christian whose dad went home suddenly three years ago, I've been looking forward to The Great Reunion (as I call our Heavenly meeting) for a while now. I see Jesus preparing my home. In my mind, I've seen myself being accepted by God and Jesus, then stepping back and looking to my right where my dad stands with his arms open wide and other loved family and friends standing behind him to welcome me. Your song is very comforting to me. It reminds me that his last breath here was his first breath in the presence of God. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gifts and talents with us. I saw you in Fargo last November. I was flustered and rushed and trying to tell everyone what I thought of you all. It was only later I realized, to my shame, I said nothing to you. I wanted you to know I have appreciated your hard work, your beautiful voice, and the way you [seem to] effortlessly arrange songs for the group. I'm excited to see you working on your own, too, and I'm subbing. I will share this with friends who are grieving. Thank you for allowing people to use it freely.

Thank You Chris. I thought of my Dad as I heard this ... I had to let HIM know that it was time for him to move on, that my sister and I would be fine, and that our Mom was waiting for him. He passed that night. .... I found this song by following the links on your 'departing video' from Home Free. My Best Wishes on your Future Endeavors; I am sure there are many 'Home Fries' that are sorry to see you go; but we also know, that as an artist, you need to spread your own wing.

This is the second time in less than a year that I have been drawn to this song. I found out today through a Facebook post that one of the girls who was just a year ahead of me in school passed away. I didn’t know her very well. We were in theater together but only shared the stage a few times. That is now the second person that class has lost since February and class sizes there were only about 170. Needless to say, this song did break me.

I'm so sorry Janet.. I want to share my favorite poem with you in hopes it helps.. In the Next Room Death is nothing at all: I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you; Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone: Wear no forced air or solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, Just around the corner. All is well. -Canon Henry Scott Holland
