Unless someone tears his arm off, Matthew Stafford should be near the top of any "right now" conversions. He still rips the ball, builds great chemistry with his receivers and is arguably the toughest QB in the league. I know he is old but he hasn't fallen off quite yet.

Simms sounds like he's trying to out-analyze the actual analytics, rather than just admitting bias and opinion. The final 2023 PFF QB grades were: 10)Goff 85.7 9)Cousins 86.1 8)Hurts 86.7 7)Tua 86.9 6)Purdy 87.4 5)Stafford 88.2 4)Dak 90 3)Lamar 90.4 2)Mahomes 90.5 and 1) Josh Allen 92.1 That is the baseline. The 2024 debate should be- Who regresses? Who breaks in?
@stephenchamberlain7184
@stephenchamberlain7184 Ай бұрын
PFF grades also aren't perfect. I think they're a great gauge to get a baseline but just as an example I can remember games that Fields would grade amazingly because he would get some long scrambles, meanwhile if you watched the tape he's just missing his reads. PFF has it's own grading system and also has humans grading those plays based on that system. They weight certain things certain ways. It's still subjective based on their grading system and who's doing those grades at the time. Chris is watching the tape and doing his best, in his opinion to grade these players. It's not as simple as PFF are the analytics so there you go. That's close minded thinking to one system(even if it is a pretty good one)

It's like me saying mahomes is 10000 rank and Allen is 7500 and burrow is 7000 because that's what I think based on stats. Then someone saying Allen is better than mahomes because of his denbover rating. It's the lazy way of an analyst having an opinion. Like you apparently 😉

I'm NOT a Chargers fan especially, BUT don't sleep on Herbert this upcoming season or sell him short. I believe Herbert will absolutely FLOURISH under Harbaugh, and I even think that -- depending on injuries and luck -- the Chargers could even shock KC and win the AFC West this year. Herbert is super smart, he's got loads of talent, and Harbaugh excels at "coaching-up" average-to-good talent QBs to play at "franchise QB" levels ... just look at what he did for Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick in San Francisco. Herbert has more raw talent than both of them combined, so I can just imagine how good of a QB he will become under Harbaugh.

STOP jinxing Josh Allen by saying "he never gets hurt." Point 1: He actually DOES get hurt -- BUT he plays through his injuries for the most part: a) His rookie year he hurt his passing elbow, ligaments, and tendons, and missed a couple of games b) Two seasons ago he BADLY hurt his throwing elbow's ligaments and ulnar nerve fairly early in the season (there was a concern he might require Tommy John surgery to repair the damage) ... but, like a warrior, he didnt throw during practice for several weeks yet played the games on Sundays when most QBs would have shut it down for the remainder of the seson c) Last season, he suffered a badly hurt shoulder (non passing arm I believe) but kept playing all season So he does get hurt -- he simply plays through it for the most part Point 2: He's at risk of getting SERIOUSLY hurt though if you keep jinxing him -- just like the oafish commentstor who opines that "QB x hasn't thrown an interception in 200 throws" ... and the very next play proceeds to throw a pick" ... or "kicker Z hasn't missed a field goal inside 35 yards in over a season" ... and the kicker then proceeds to miss a short "chip shot" FG attempt.

What Chris Simms says doesn’t affect reality. If Simms had said “Allen never wins the SB” does that mean they’re going to or is the “reverse jinx” not real either. @@axe2grind244 "Jinxing" is a figure of speech -- everyone knows that the speaker can't actually produce the articulated event or its inverse; but that reality doesn't alter the other reality that, invariably (for reasons unrelated in reality to the speaker) the articulated event or its inverse often does occur. As for the "hurt" vs "injured" distinction, everyone who has ever played football knows that they are different -- but NOT "completely" different. They are differing GRADATIONS -- as in our coaches always telling us that we can play hurt, but not truly injured. Josh may indeed get "injured" (we never get to see the MRIs, X-rays, CT scans, medical reports, etc.) -- but he typically plays through it whenever possible -- moreso than most other QBs do.

Tua just finished a whole 17 games last year. Tua has missed more than 13 games. Burrows were freak accidents. Lamar Jackson mised 10 games In 2 years. Not sure how many he has missed total. Burrows injury’s were no one could play through that. No one could play if the tore their ACL and MCL. Not going to happen. The Bengals offensive line I. 2020 was pathetic. Last year he tore a ligament in his wrist. A linebacker could have played through that. A CB could have played through that. A QB can’t not when it’s on your throwing arm. Just like Brock Purdy had a similar injury and then you have Christian MaCaffery the RB playing QB. Burrow is going to play 20 games again this year. The Bengals are getting the number 1 seed and are winning the Super Bowl. There are lots of QBs in the NFL who can’t make it through an entire 17 game season. Burrow played through small injury’s. By week 10 no k e is fully healthy. That’s why I say Burrow is t injury prone because the injury’s he had had were catastrophic freak accidents. His latest injury the wrist injury is a fairly common injury among linebackers or o and d lineman. QB’s don’t Have that injury. Burrow could Not find 1 single QB who had ever had that injury. All he found were linebacker and linemen who have had it.

Tua is like the two girls on squid game playing marbles. He’s the one that noodles the marble like 5 inches. He’s a nice dude and good at getting the ball out quickly and gaining yards from his yac guys but Herbert is a complete QB just had some terrible coaching in LA

Dude i understand Tua doesnt have the strongest arm, but to still hate on him for throwing a screen every now and then from you is beyonf hypocritical. You argued all pre draft that Bo nix shouldn't be knocked because of his offense and the amount of screens he threw. You argued today that Burrow gets to be as good as he is because of Chase, boyd, higgins, and Mixon versus Allen just have diggs all these years. I just dont get it. Tua and Burrow now has similar roster talent around them, but you never make such negative comments towards burrow. Im not even arguing Tua is better than Burrow. Im just asking for consistency in your arguments

@roundhouse8003

His first MVP was 5 YEARS AGO. Since then Lamar has not had a season close to that level of production. His recent MVP was given to him because his TEAM was so good that they finished with the best record. Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott, and Josh Allen all contributed more to their teams in terms of statistics. Lamar had a great year, but playoff performance has been an Achilles Heel of his and it reared its ugly head again against the Chiefs. Once Lamar shows up consistently in the postseason then he will unequivocally be top 2. Right now it’s not clear that he is.
@TheRealPSKilla502

@@roundhouse8003Lamar had a great season in 2019 because of Greg Roman’s new offense, but teams gradually figured it out and G Ro didn’t evolve the passing game, also he had literally the worst receivers in the league in 2022. Look what happened when the ravens finally gave him an NFL-caliber passing scheme. In retrospect, it’s pretty impressive what he was able to achieve with such a terrible passing scheme and supporting cast.

@@roundhouse8003 Lamar is in the MVP race every year outside his rookie year. The Ravens lost to the SB champs by 7 and Zay fumbled in the end zone but I guess that was Lamar fault. Bottom line unless you have 2 MVPs you not better than Lamar.

Josh Allen plays all his games. On top of that he's second in the league in total yards since 2020 (rushing and passing) and 5,000 more than Jackson, 1st in total TDs since 2020 and 74 more than Jackson. It gets worse in the playoffs. And let's not mention their head to head in the playoffs, where Jackson throws a pick six in the goalie while down 7nand then doesn't finish the game.
