Humbly says at the end: "That was pretty good" Holy smokes. This is gold. I adore this guy...flying under the radar for decades. What is up with that? Dang.

Just great .. One can ask how can he keep getting better ? I guess he is the "EverReady battery" of folk and blues. Love it!

@stefgoff I've seen him live many times, and taken a guitar workshop from him. I'm well aware of how he gets the percussion sound, I was talking about the bass lines he plays with his thumb. Fingerstyle guitar is one thing, but getting such full tone and rhythmic intensity that it mimics an upright bass, that's just a master's touch.

Love CS! Not positive, but I think this is David Goodrich on slide. Another stellar player/producer.

I've sen him a number of times, too. Even had the chance to talk over coffee before a show at Tupelo's in Londonderry, NH (both our Dads had died, i.e., "Lay the Old Man Down", very powerful), yet, as a fingerstyle player myself, never delved into "technique" with him. The shop you took must've been a blast! I do notice, at least now, a) he's into a Collings guitar (nice) vs. the blue Alvarez (will that ever return? Hmm . . .) and, b) no thumb pick (or any for that matter).

Dude have you not seen him live? Most of the drum sound comes from his feet on the box he's sittin on.

Which is even all the more incongruous as to how he gets that HEAVY bass line rhythm without 'em! Let's not forget the magic of (electronic) effects, too. But, that fullness AND economy - and as we say in the Boston area - WICKED PISSAH!

Siiickk stuff.....great. But I'm trying not to let my preference for just him, the guitar, and that righeous left foot get in the way of this a bit more polished? version of one of my favorites. IAG

Thank you very much for your attention Lynn. I didn't get an answer to my request, and I admit I forgot, but thanks to you, this morning I did a new search, and I found the lyrics in English. Maybe one day I'll do a cover of this song. You are right, this man is realy fantastic. Sincerely - Fran

Don't even notice that there's no bass. He gets a hell of a sound out of that thumb of his.
