Hes a cop with a wife that has bi-polar... he try's and helps her through her tough times but she cant help her ownself....

She's bipolar. When she's happy, she's SUPER happy. When she's sad, it's the end of the world. The mood swings in someone who's bipolar are like a roller coaster. The first line of the song "honey load up your questions and pick up your sticks and your stones. And pretend I'm a shelter for heartaches that don't have a home", he's telling her to put all her burdens on him, and he'll take care of her. Such a sad story. Here's a link to the making of the video. Notice Chris playing the bartender. Proceeds from the song are going to a charity that deals with mental health issues. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6rIhZyAgdlsiJo

shout out to the boy Stu. Officers have so much to deal with, with work and personal life. Sometimes it's the officers who have it worse in life than people they attempt to help. Love ya, Stu. You weren’t ready to send him to hell immediately. I know that the beginning of this video was not immediately clear but you had an open mind about and that’s what we need now. It seems that we all make snap judgements before we know the true story. If we could all be like Stu, the world would be a better place. Hats off to you Stu. I love that song and thanks Tae for the honest reaction.

This song hit me so unbelievably hard because I suffer from bipolar disorder and my husband of 17 years is a police officer. This was like the story of my life. My husband is a wonderful man who has stood by me since I was 18 years old. I've put him through a lot of hardship with finances, with me running up hospital bills or spending too much money before I think about and realize what I'm doing. And he's had to deal with a lot of emotional abuse that's extremely hard and, at times, impossible to control. When I'm manic, I'm in orbit and when I'm depressed, I'm ready to die. I've often asked people: "How many men do you know would stay in a relationship with a woman like me? If you were like me, or if your spouse was like me, would the two of you be able to make it work?" Much love to my husband for standing with me and to Chris Stapleton for this video, even if it is hard to watch sometimes.

I suffer from mild bipolar disorder, severe depression and severe anxiety. The first time I saw this video, I thought it was going to be about spousal abuse too, like y'all did(although I didn't take on the "it's a cop" aspect). When I realized what it was really about, I was blown away. This video is the first I've ever seen that deals with the loved ones of people like me. And it is so profound, it actually helps me try to be a better person, even when I am in my darkest hour, because I don't want to hurt the people I love, even when I am living in the darkness that is mental illness. I'm struggling all the time, so I look for reaction vids to this song, because seeing folks recognize that mental illness is real, makes me feel less alone. Thank you for your video.

When I started watching this I also thought he’d killed her. As the video played out I saw myself, I battle depression every day. I don’t suffer from it, I fight it like hell. My husband watched the video and refuses to watch or listen to the song again. He said this video is his biggest fear, that it reminds him of us. I love how you both talked your way through the video and gave a genuine, heartfelt reaction. I’m a hard rock/metal fan and got to meet one of my favorite artists. He battles depression as well. We talked for half an hour and he said to me, “You and I, we are going to refuse to suffer depression. We will battle it. We won’t win every battle but we will win the f***ing war.” He then had his security put myself and my family in the front row and took my son on stage during the concert. Depression is a battle. Do NOT give up! Thank you both for an excellent reaction.

Dont worry Tae... there's been a lot of focus on cops having domestic trouble and it's understandable to have that be a thought. We are all still trying to keep ourselves from reacting in suspicion to each other bc the images we see and the stories that are told are too often of people who do the wrong things. I'm guilty of it too. Gotta keep looking for the best in everyone. Love your channel and that you guys tackled this. Thanks for sharing it.
@tanyastewart70194 жыл бұрын
Chris’ record company was pressuring him to create a video to promote some of the songs on this album and he refused to do a video that was focused on promoting him, just some ego boost for sales. Finally he agreed IF it could be done HIS way and with a purpose and message. This is the result. Chris plays the bartender, his only appearance in the video. This says sooo much about the person he is and proves he does this because music is his passion! It’s not about fame and fortune ultimately for him.

If you watch her from the beginning, she's struggling hard with her mental health. And that "cop", her man, didn't abandon her like many would. He did everything he could to help her. But her demons won. This happens WAY more often then it's talked about. It's heartbreaking

This is important. I liked this video, because watching these young men you see a glimpse into what we all as human beings do, and has what has been our downfall for as long as God put us here. We all tend to be visual, and audible creatures. We take the first thing we see, or the first strong speaker, a rumor, and we automatically make our decisions on that, instead of looking deeper. Having empathy, trying to walk in someone else’s shoes, or thinking deeper. Every ACTION has a REACTION! This has caused Wars, division, the witch trials, slavery, the Holocaust. You see the progression of these young men, with their initial thought, and then once they realize what was really going on. Watch any movie, read any book. You see this is how every storyline goes. Just remember, things are NEVER as they seem.
