Band Bio:
Reel Reedy’s heart and soul lies in the powerhouse songwriting and performances of Patrick Reedy, the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist. Patrick’s journey in music began as a teen in the small town of Roseburg, Oregon, when his song "Somewhere" earned him a spot as a Billboard "Top New Pick" in 1981. Despite this early recognition, the constraints of small-town life led him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he sought to refine his sound. Nashville, however, can be a challenging landscape for young musicians, and after facing some tough lessons, Patrick returned to Roseburg. There, he focused on family life while continuing to write, perform locally, and explore his passion for music.
In 2011, Patrick was joined by his son, James Reedy, and the father-son duo became a local favorite. With longtime friend and collaborator Brandon Hicks, Reel Reedy finally solidified into the unique band it is today. Their journey truly took off in 2019, and the group found a unique way to connect with fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, gaining a following through spirited live streams.
Their mission? Simple yet refreshing: "Make music fun again." With that in mind, Reel Reedy began sharing their music widely in 2020, releasing fan-favorite singles like "The Middle" and "Love and Hate." In 2024, the band dropped their first EP, Jekyll and Hyde, featuring the standout single "Angels On The Radio," which has since amassed over 15,000 Spotify streams.
Reel Reedy dubs their genre “Oregon Tree Rock,” blending classic rock, country, and alternative influences into a sound that’s as refreshing and raw as the Oregon landscape. Often compared to legends like CCR, Willie Nelson, and Guns N’ Roses, Reel Reedy’s style resists being boxed in, flowing naturally from the band’s unique synergy.
