I am a 51 year old white Maleand am proud to say I have an eclectic taste in music.... several years ago my phone was playing quite a few genres of music, anyway, one of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrells song was playing...a very young teen black female asked me " why are you listening to that? " I asked her what did she mean and her reply was, " that's black peoples music" .... I paused the song and politely said ,"ma'am, music does not nor should it ever have racial boundaries" there's too many boundaries for us today that should not exist... she got up walked away and called me a white devil.. Didn't know who he was and went to see a band at a Harley Davidson dealership in Maryville Tennessee in 2014. That band was the Jompson Brothers with front man Chris Stapleton. The concert venue is The Shed. I sent The Jompson Brothers a message on Facebook asking if they would mind to sign my son's guitar after the show. The band came out after the show looking for him and everyone signed it. Great group of guys. It was cold and rainy in early April. They stayed and talked to everyone that wanted to say hi. Everyone knew that night he was about to explode on the seen. Happy for their success.

I have been obsessed with Chris Stapleton since a bartender was playing him on the jukebox (perfect place to first hear him) up here in Alaska one night. I need to say here since I've read a few of you all's reviews and need to give some props to his wife who is a tried and true trooper, excellent singer, great stage presence, backs up Chris like no one else could I'm sure. They just seem to have a true and deep bond that makes seeing them on stage together genuine magic. Also when I saw (on TV) Chris at some awards show and Dolly Parton was supposed to be honored, but they really cut her time short, when Chris was called up for his award he said "If I can I want to donate my time to Dolly". He is up there with the legends like Willie and Waylon, singers and song writers that paved the way for what is now taken for granted. The devil named music.

Hearing vs listening: BIG DIFFERENCE. I have never HEARD his songs. Since day 1, I have LISTENED. His voice is one of a kind. This song hits hard, as all of his songs do. You don’t just hear his music, you can feel it. His lyrics are original & have meaning. Morgane is a beautiful vocal addition, and much more. I notice her, watching him. Makes the songs more intimate and real. Song just now debuted on radio as “new”. Been a long time coming and I’m glad it’s finally out. Just sayin...👍
