I came home in 87 after a year of starving in Nashville in an attempt to become a professional musician. I recorded this off of MTV. I sat and drank alone...listening to this over and over...crying many times. I came home broken and lost. I remember how empty I felt. When I hear this song, my stomach ties in knots, but I remember that I tried.

The original singer for this Band was a guy called Stevie Doherty. They were originally from Glasgow , Scotland. I never met Terry Brock although David & Ian Stewart remain friends to this day. Jim Drummond the drummer is from a town called Coatbridge, which is my hometown and just about 8mls outside Glasgow. I new Jim less than the rest of the guys, and he was introduced to the band by Stevie Doherty, who also came from Coatbridge. The Bands original name was China White and Fast Lix before .

Cómo no pensar en "ella" si por el radio me dicen que sólo un tonto pierde el tiempo amando a una frívola. No es culpa de Strangeways ni de su melodía envolvente y cruel, tampoco de la noche que se abre paso por esta carretera solitaria, tampoco de las sombras que vagan a ver si cruzan o no el camino. Al final, estamos tan sólo el carro, "ella" y yo, a ver si con esta canción nos componemos en algo. No obstante, un problema: tarde o temprano la música cesará y volveremos a ser unos desconocidos.
