I think I bumped into him without realising it one morning really early at Minsmere reserve when I met this guy trying to record a little grebe about twenty years back - not realising he was part of one of my favourite bands when I was in my teens.

"Do The Mussolini (Headkick)" is one of my all time favourites by Cabaret Voltaire!!!!

In the description, I listed it as "The Sound of Sheffield", which was most likely a sober mix-up on my part with "The Original Sound of Sheffield", which are two CV compilation albums. This clip is actually from the DVD "Made in Sheffield", which is a 2004 documentary about early electronic/post-punk bands from French Polynesia. No, I mean Sheffield. Great film, definitely worth buying for any fans of the genre/era.

Thanks for sharing. Great to hear Chris' recollections .. And to see he's still got a synth in the corner :-) (assuming that's his place?).

I had completely forgotten that apart from the great Nag Nag Nag they also did Do the Mussolini Headkick. Knew the song but if you asked me who did it I wouldn't have said Cabaret Voltaire. Weird.
