I grew up in TX listening to SRV, Hendrix, Allman Bros, Buddy Guy, Lightning Hopkins; but when I first heard Whitley I literally said, “Holy sh-t, that’s the most original sound I’ve ever heard.” Gone much too soon, but what he left I’ll never stop listening to.

Indian Summer is one of my Fav Chris Whitley songs! I still have his slide & fingerpicks from his last show he played in Phx Az 2005 when I ran sound for him at The Rhythm Room. I met him several times over the years. Super talented and brilliant guitarist & songwriter

Guy’s an unrecognized national treasure. Dirt Floor is one of the most poignant songs I’ve ever heard in 50 years.

Incredible. And it’s spooky how much Trixie looks like him and has such comparable talent. You know he’s looking down and is so proud of her

As another fan has already said, "The most criminally underappreciated artist of my lifetime." A story teller, worn shoes scuffling through the dust (and now) the the dirt, using his keen eye to remind us about the work that still needs our attention in this tired world !

Pure honesty… musically, lyrically, emotionally. Chris was one genius of the 80’s-90’s. RIP brave man.

Look at that. ....One person...One, has pressed "don't like". How anyone can do that is beyond me. What awesome music. Very sad that he passed away.
