Chris, if you do end if making a project with those thin "fiber optic" lights intended for car trim I would love to see you try to use the individually addressable ones. They typically come in kits with the controller but it would be cool to figure out how to control them with an ESP32 since the kits are typically very expensive. They could be used for lots of cool projects where the LEDs themselves are hidden in very thin channels or trim around things. I purchased a couple myself and they seem to be a strange 5v strip with tiny leds. Wasn't able to figure out how to work it with a Quin LED Dig board.

@@TheGMUniverse I got them from Aliexpress. There's lots of different vendors. They are typically called Symphony car led strips and can be controlled with an app. The app seems kinda trash so I wanted to try doing it with WLED.

Honestly, what I bet is happening is that Temu is doing the very low prices to get themselves on the map, and once they get a steady flow of business, they will begin to gradually raise prices. But, honestly, why not take advantage of it? When they raise prices I'll just go back to aliexpress for this type of stuff, until then, if it's cheaper on temu, I'll get it there.

Looks like the hexagon lights are currently sold in a 3 pack and not 6. Chris, do you see a way to connect more than 3 lights together with one controller? Edit: There seems to be another listing where you can choose from 3,6,10 pack. Thanks again Chris.

Good question! I would assume multiple packs would work together but I'm not a 100% sure. I would maybe just check to see if there are any other hex light panels similar in a 6 pack. Seems like they sell a lot of this type of product so they all probably work about the same.

Well, these are toys basically. I have one observation to make on the "Game Over" thingy: the model you chose does nothing more than say Game Over, but there are models that are much more useful: the glass surface is blank and you can write whatever you want on it, and delete it later. We use that a lot in the kitchen, as a reminder to each other for stuff that needs to be bought or done; example: "buy milk and coffee, xoxo"; and usually I will find a reply saying "buy it yourself you lazy ass or something on these lines... or a proper reply like "ok done, you don't forget setting the pot for yogurt". All in all, it's still just a toy, but one that can find it's way to a good use :) PS: the models I'm talking about are by Temu and cost pennies.
