Nice review - I've got the big version it emulates various amps and gets an amp driven tone of say a plexi or Fender twin out of your current gear, you can stack tube screamers, klon types into it to combo classic tones you hear. For me the big plus is the blend nob which let's you mix the origional signal in the output. Anyways Origin make class stuff

This is incredible. It’s propably the most amazing thing released this year. Every single demo showcases so much like an amp, more than any other thing on the market. Bonus: seeing you sneak some Metallica in. Weird seeing you with that much gain going for that. Quite funny.
@stevebaskerville67525 жыл бұрын
Actually, the second guy, Chris - Rabea Massaad beat you to it by about 8 hours! But, that said, loved the playing as always, and especially the homage to Dan Steinhardt. The pedal sounds really versatile - and I might actually have bought one if I hadn’t gone to Andertons on Tuesday & come away with a Gibson Les Paul Classic & a Snouse Black Box Overdrive 2 Stage Pro Mod pedal. So the wallet is feeling a little bruised just now. By the way, they Snouse purchase I’m blaming entirely on you! Awesome player, awesome pedal!

Much more like it,a very nice bit of kit. As ever, I prefer the lower gain settings, the 'Dan' being the standout for me. What I particularly liked was the Vintera 60's modified as this is the exact guitar that I have my sights on currently. So a feature on that sometime soon would be very welcome. Having said that, I've just picked up a lovely late 90's Epiphone Sheraton (Korean) in beautiful condition for a bloody song. It's gorgeous, I think we'll be pals for a very long time! Wonderful to see you returning to The Cluny in March, is it right you're in the 'big' room? Can't wait! All the best mate.

That's just where the market is going. As long as the gear wankers are willing to pay 500$ for a reverb pedal other manufacturers will follow. Cheap boss pedals are not cool anymore it's all about the status ib the guitar community.
@ayoungethan5 жыл бұрын
Well, its basically a boutique NMV amp replacement in a std pedal size. Add the cost of a power amp and speaker cab (and/or cab sim). Yeah you can get digital modeling pedals for less that sound pretty convincing in a recording but do not feel convincing to play.

Chris, how does it compare to the Snouse? As an early adopter I feel a loyalty to the brand but this seems like a great pairing with a Fender amp for lots of versatility. Maybe it’s a daft question (apples vs oranges) but low gain tones are my go to so interested in how it stacks up.
@Grant_Ferstat5 жыл бұрын
I actually wish they made a Dual version with this slightly more manageable level of control complexity. I'd love the two channels but, what held me back from purchase was lack of confidence that I could quickly dial it in if you were faced with a quick line-check/sound check situation and an unfamiliar backline amp..
@robertwellington26165 жыл бұрын
Grant Ferstat I grabbed a used original at a really decent price. Trust me it’s not difficult to figure out. Took me just a few minutes and got it figured out. You can do it. It scares people off for some reason with the labels.
@Grant_Ferstat5 жыл бұрын
@@robertwellington2616 I've tried them. I know were it for dialing in with my rig it'd be no issue, But for the situation I'm describing where you're playing sets say across a weekend and one stage has an AC30, the next a Hot Rod Deville.. and you've got 20 minutes to get the whole band onstage. That's the concern for me. I think that the Dual channel version could be distilled down to this feature set without losing much versatility.
@MadeAirbreak5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris. Amazing demo. Sorry i just missed it somewhere in the video - but I'd like to know what your signal chain is. Are you running and amp, or directly into an interface? The sound you achieve at around 6:40 is just immensely good.

Just found your channel. Impressive. Nicely done. I play more metal style guitar. I use a boost or an 808 style overdrive pushing a already front of a first year 50 watt Marshall JCM800 with EL34's. A note anybody else driving the front end of your tube amp hard, brand or power not withstanding would be very happy with this pedal. I'm not impressed with the price. Ultimately your paying for the circuit.

Yes I agree its a little dark....but the pedal itself is not. It's got plenty of brightness on tap and beautiful harmonic content. More than any other dirt pedal I own. Think jmp Marshall or ac30 and you're in its sweet spot.
@Whitewallsessions5 жыл бұрын
Why do I want it so bad when I clearly don’t need another overdrive? Also, £315 is extracting the urine - why the 15? Surely £300 would more than cover costs and profit margins?

@@NuraliKushkov No. The design of the AC30, and similar amps, doesn't use a feedback loop. Circuits that Do have them do so to increase linearity, stability and reduce distortions.

if these boutique pedal makers are going to build compact/affordable versions then price them at half the price of a fender HRD amp then they are missing huge swathes of marketshare - better marketing brains required at these brands.
