Learn how to ceramic coat your car at home. There are many great ceramic coatings out there. I am using Armor Shield iX which is DIY friendly and very easy to apply. It provides at least 2 years of protection and makes your paint extra glossy. To ceramic coat your car, just like with painting, the prep is the most important and most time consuming steps.
Coating: avl.kg/bf22c
1. Wash/clean car
2. Clay bar and iron decon car
3. Polish car
4. IPA wipe-down car (Isopropyl Alcohol)
5. Ceramic coat car

Make sure ya pre wash then spray with an iron remover. Sometimes a clay doesn’t get the embedded iron in it. Then clay after. If possible coat in a garage so dust doesn’t fall on it then leave indoors away from contaminants for 8-12 hours at least. 🫡 Also using a 3 towel method will ensure they don’t get high spots. With the first towel you’re leveling the carrier agents so you push coating onto the adjacent panel sometimes which causes high spots. If left untended they lol have to be polished after.

@@chrisfix I almost ordered this just now. I'm just starting out as a professional detailer, been diy forever (I'm 30). I read there claims and many reviews but let's make my question non-brand specific, *is the quality/longevity really there?* I wanted to dip my toes in ceramic so I tried Nu-Finish ceramic and though it did provide water beading, I was not very impressed with the shine and wasn't convinced it would last very long, so I concluded that my old standby Nu-Finish polish (relay does last almost a year...in Maine!) was a better product. It has downsides like the white residue on trim. Right now my primary customer is a used car dealer and there focus is on speed, so right now my options for them are: 1 Soap with wax in it, wich I hate. 2 Rain-x spray wash (silicone), which I like but only lasts about a month. 3 Nu-Finish polish, because both 2 and 3 look better than the Nu-Finish ceramic (granted in my test I did not clay bar or polish). For non-dealer customers I would like to offer the full monty but am apprehensive about advertising that it will last 2-7yrs depending on the product chosen. I'd like to offer this in the next six months and that is not enough time for me to test products on my own vehicles, plus that is a large investment in time+matt. I don't know if you have any time for these types of questions, I have looked through the comments here to see if you had already answered them but only saw you say that the professional products where a little better. So if you are willing to take the time to respond it could save me a lot of time and research. Thank you.

It’s worth mentioning that professionals that charge prices like that will usually be using a much better pro grade coating that they are certified to install. Most of these coatings are going to last in the 7-10 year range, where a diy application, while still great to do, isn’t going to last near as long. You’re looking at anywhere from 1-3 years depending on a number of factors. Also if your vehicle has a lot of swirl marks and scratches, a professional is going to be able to get them looking much better than most diy people could. It really just depends on what kind of result you’re looking for and how much more you’re willing to pay for it.

Hey Chris! I’ve been a huge fan since I was in middle school and I just turned 20 in august. I know you probably get this a lot but I’d genuinely like to get to work with you sometime as I ordered some rock lights for my mom as a joke(but I plan on actually installing them) as well as some for my buddy because he won’t tell me what he needs for his truck for Christmas lol. I’d love to be like you and have the amount of knowledge and skills you do. “Project Nightlight” and “Project Police Interceptor” have always been my favorites as I love off-roading YEE YEE and I’ve always wanted to be a police officer(sadly I can’t due to health reasons)! Please if there’s any way you could help me install these, because I have no clue how to, that’d be great! We all love you and the videos! Keep up the amazing work bro!

I love you criss fi, you helped me change my back glass but working the paint Is another ballgame, if you buff you can't buff too hard or too fast otherwise you burn the clear and if you ceramic coat too much it's not going to get In the clear and is gona "freez" on top of the clear leaving a wet spot fort the rest of eternity on the clear😅

My buddy left his detailing business from burnout. I bought Duraslic off of him at cost and he helped me prep, polish, and apply the coating. We did FAR from the professional perfect job and it still took 20 man hours.
