Hey Chris, sorry to hear about this scam happening to you. Thank you for sharing. Scamming is really out of control. I’ve experienced a scam while thinking I was part of a job interview a few years ago. I consider myself tech savvy, and I have some anti-phishing training and I still almost fell for the scam during a fake interview. I felt terrible, and was really down on myself. I feel you are 100% in the right and something seems very suspicious about the manager at your local Popeyes restaurant. In my opinion, Popeyes corporate needs to reach out to you as soon as possible and make this right. In my opinion, something is very suspicious about your local Popeyes manager deflecting and trying to turn attention away from themselves putting blame on you when you did nothing wrong. Shame on your local Popeyes and Popeyes corporate!

His clothes are always dirty and I saw him walking out one day and he had snot surround his nose, and he was swiping with his hand, and his clothes were filthy. Yuck.

☹I think they spoofed the number.... So sorry that happened to you, big boy! I will tell you that this is not the first time customer service numbers have been spoofed... Back in 2019 my cousin filed a complaint with Firestone customer service about a tire he had put on. At 5 o'clock in the morning, he got a call from the Firestone customer service number. Whoever was on the line told him he had to drive to a firestone three towns over, and they would redo the work for free, and they would have a full refund for him. He questioned it but looked up the number and it seemed legit. My cousin fell for it. He actually wasted his gas and drove three towns over to the Firestone. When he got there, the person on the phone instructed him to ask for Semore. He asked for Semore, and nobody at the establishment knew who Semore was. When he asked Semore's last name, the person on the phone said "butts" and said "Semore butts" and started laughing and hurling the F bomb at him. Scamming is out of control.

Well… If I was scammed in this situation if it were me I’d hope they would understand but I’m guessing if this is how they operate that this is not the case. I did not really see them do anything wrong; however, I am not sure why Chris would fall for them if a guy (someone from customer service) stated that the manager would apologize to them. Like what is an apology supposed to do? It's either they can give you your money back or give you the meal that you bought. Whenever you reach out to a corporate's email address, it gets pushed back to the location you are complaining about and usually a manager will be on the phone or through email, saying or writing "I apologize and here is a coupon next time to be redeemed....etc.)"

But then at the same time i am one that is more to the "its cheaper to eat at home" style of life sometimes anyway. As far as awareness goes you did help me realize that maybe ordering popeyes isnt the best idea especially right now. Although i dont eat out often i do sometimes get gift cards as gifts for special occasions some of which is uber eats or other food services. So the way this has effected me is simply that i will not likely order from popeyes anytime soon. Plus truth is when i do order fast food or go out to eat its not fried chicken i even crave as truth be told its Taco Bell actually.
