Ive been trying to find the words to explain why I and many of us love this podcast... And I think its the same reason we all loved the original top gear boys....they make us feel like we are with the crazy uncles we never had, the uncle who turns up to the family picnic in his loud, fast, maybe unreliable hot rod... What many modern car shows and podcasts miss is simply authenticity.... No matter how simple or how grand a car show is, the most important thing is for the hosts to truly love the automobile. I'm sure they won't read this, but wanted to send a thankful comment anyway... Cheers.

Mr Harris! Thanks for being so cordial at that Esso yesterday. You know the spooky thing? The only reason I was there was because of the fuel quality discussion and praise of Esso I heard on here! Funny how that works out... (pay no mind to the car it's a courtesy...) If I were to get my 2cg selected I'd like it on merit so I'll think it over and post next week but I will say this, you have been hugely impactful on my passion for cars growing up. Instrumental mate. Didn't want to draw too much attention and you looked to be in a rush so I didn't bother you for a chat. I will next time though 😉, thanks for the interaction!

Chris Cooper is a Cooper S mini! Small, well designed but punches well above his weight in competition. Harris is an Exige S, tricky to handle, pure, yet in the right hands is a delight and accurate with it's power, Manish is a 456 when the interior is finished and Neil was spot on hahah. Straight forward, provocative, no nonsense and thought provoking car talk, Love It!!! The suggested new podacast name suggestion - 'Baptised in the Flames of Adventure Car podcast' PS. I went to a Shell garage today; for some reason they had never been part of my usual rotation prior to last week, and filled up the Spyder with V-Power, thinking of you all. I loved this episode. It really feels like I'm catching up with _my_ friends (although that seems so presumptuous to consider yourself included in such a sparkling group of witty, kind, entertaining raconteurs). Devastating vulnerability and humility from Chris C. Phenomenal episode throughout. Harris don't ever joke that we are bored; this is my favourite podcast of them all.

In about 2001, my Porsche 924 battery was dead and the car would turn off after about 20 miles. I managed to pull into a driveway of a country house, somewhere in Lincolnshire, and the painter and decorator that was working there loaned me his van so I could drive to Halfords and buy a new one. Can’t imagine that would happen today. We used to be civil to one another.

The nicest car I have ever owned, driven and had to live with. Alas my father in law burnt it to the ground when his workshop caught fire. I would still have it today if that had not happened. The old school handbrake saved me a couple of times, without it I would’ve ended up rear-ending someone. Aston Martin has been on a downhill slope for years, beautiful cars brilliant engines but they couldn’t figure out the interior, Aston always seemed to have a niche of it’s own separate from other supercars and they didn’t cash in on that.

Great as usual. AM is neither a luxury cruiser, like a Bentley, or a supercar like a McLaren. It tries to be both and fails. AM conjures up wooden dashboards, pipe & slippers, King Charles and faded spies. Think of Bentley and I think of 1920's blowers, LeMans, Tim Birkin and the Bentley Boys. AM need to decide what they want to be, also the DB5/6 were 4 seaters. Aston Martin also makes me think of David Brown tractors, and not in a good tractor way like Lamborghini or Porsche.

I love James Bond movies but i'd have a Ferrari Roma if I had the money. (And I'm a Porsche fan, I'd have a 911 as well) AM should sit out the next few movies seriously. However their biggest problem is investment which means they're always playing catch-up.
